Honestly there is nothing good about this place but the late night local Ethiopian food at the resturant and the welcoming staff. The break fast is horrible Showers in the bathrooms are not working properly and water pressure is so low. Bathroom floors are not clean Don’t expect to sleep after 7 am because the staff make so much noise screaming and shouting in the corridors, they won’t stop even when you talk to them. The pool water is not clean and without any treatment.

On the night of December 23rd, 2017, while staying at the hotel, I was suddenly taken acutely ill.

The hamburger served to me in the evening at the restaurant had led to severe food poisoning.

I was on the 3rd floor. The hotel has no lift. The room intercom was not functioning.

I finally got assistance after something like 2 hours after making several calls.

Thereafter the hotel staff and GM were very helpful. Taking me to the hospital etc.

They personally escorted me to a clinic through their own vehicle, lent me local currency for the medical expenses, stayed in the clinic with me, helped me see the doctor, get my blood tested, bought me antibiotics, saw me back to my room in the hotel. Amazing people.

But they didn't give me the doctor's report which must have shown...

... that some people find this place fantastic and others don't!||When I was there, for instance, you could have walked across the top of the water in the pool, it was so dense and dirty! Also, the food was inedible, literally! (I'm talking about their versions of Western food; it was unrecognisable!) Salad and soup was OK. Real downside is that it is far out of town, away from Lake Tana, the shops, restaurants and any possible activity.||But to compensate, the room was a good size, clean, quality linen, the lights worked, they do laundry, they have A/C and an elevator. The staff were cheerful and helpful. It's quiet (don't hear the traffic if you are in the block at the back) and no barking dogs. So all in all, OK. Nice to sit outside and...

Greetings from Boston,||||Very clean air-conditioned rooms, Excellent 24 hour room service (excellent authentic food and a wide variety selections of wing, beer and all sorts of hard liquors). The owner, Mr. Mulugeta is always accessible if you have any complaints or concerns. Outstanding collections of GYM equipments, Sauna, Jacuzzi and steam bath all side by side. Very well maintained swimming pool and a very good playground area if you travel with your family. Above all, I am extremely satisfied with a very nice and always smiling serving crew and their fast services. I highly recommend Homland Hotel if you travel to Bahir-Dar/Ethiopia.||||P.S. Price is...
