Rooms are clean & most of the time there's water coming out of the shower (which is a luxury in Adigrat), but there is noise pollution coming from inside & outside the hotel. ||||The restaurant is right under the hotel rooms; at 6am and sometimes before that, the restaurant staff starts preparing the restaurant with a lot of noise, and also often they will bring a fresh sheep inside which is bleating because it knows it's going to be killed.||||Above the hotel room, there's a big meeting room; when the Ethiopian government workers are having a meeting in the morning, the hotel staff will prepare the meeting room starting from around 5am, which will promptly wake you up. ||||From outside, there also noise coming from a night club opposite the hotel. Especially when you sleep in a street side room and the music is on, it's difficult to sleep before 2am. ||||If you want a more quite place to sleep, consider...
Read moreI just recently stayed at the Eve Hotel for 3 weeks. Yes, there were problems but, the staff was quick to act and rectify the situations. If you're looking for just an overnight stay, most of the rooms are quite adequate. For longer stays, rooms 201, 202 and 305 are larger and more comfortable. I had carpet in my room and, yes, I saw one roach. After telling the staff, they sprayed the room and I didn't see any for the rest of the trip. When one of the lights went out in the bathroom, it was fixed immediately. The rooms are worn but, for what and where it is, not bad. If you have difficulties with stairs, get a lower floor room. There is no elevator. We lost power daily but, normally for no more than 15-20 minutes. Daily at lunch time, they have the customary coffee ceremony. I don't believe that ANY hotel in Adigrat will ever be awarded 5 stars. One must consider the...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel only one night as part of a tour group, so can’t comment on price/value. The room we had was basic but of good size. The beds were good. One of the two overhead lights and the light over the mirror in the bathroom didn’t work, so lighting was poor. The shower has a fixed showerhead with no shower curtain, so it makes a mess of the bathroom floor when you take a shower. There was a storage cabinet in the room but we couldn’t get one of the doors open. The room we had (205), as do most of the rooms, faced into an atrium and there is noise from the kitchen and other activities in the atrium. No Internet service. No air conditioning but should not be needed. There are not many places to stay in Adigrat and this hotel, while basic and with its faults, was...
