My husband and I went to Yap for a diving trip during MantaFest at the beginning of September. We stayed at ESA Bay View hotel for 8 nights. ||Pros: They provided free airport pickup and drop off. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. Our room is at Rm 305 with a beautiful view of Chamorro bay and sunrise In the morning. Room was cleaned every day. They let us borrow the hotel towels from room for boat dives every day. The room has a fridge but no microwave. I like the balcony because we could hang our wetsuits there on the last day before we packed them. |Convenient location, close to our dive shop and a convenient store across the street. We bought some drinking water from the store. The Yap Living Museum and Manta Ray Bay resort and restaurants are within walking distance (8-10 minutes walk) ||Cons: it has in-room WiFi but speed was unreliable. There were some nights we just couldn’t open any webpage or check email. |There’s no elevator. We had to carry our luggage downstairs when we left. But our suitcases are not too heavy and we are strong divers so we didn’t have any problem carrying our luggage down. :-) we ate at the restaurant on the next night after we arrived because it was Sunday no other restaurant in town were open. Not very good value for beef broccoli ( one serving) compared to Ganir restaurant we went for five nights afterward. I like Ganir because they have bigger portions for a cheaper price for the same quality of food at ESA hotel. ||All in all , we were satisfied with ESA Bay View Hotel. It served the purpose for us: which is provide a place to sleep after our dives. Comfortable bed and shower. We are simple people. It’s a simple hotel. Simple is...

ESA is one of those restaurants that is best at certain parts of the day. For ESA, that is generally breakfast, the prices are average and some meals are quite good. They have recently slimmed down their menu. ||||They have some of the best omelettes on the island, particularly the Spanish Omelette if your looking for something tasty and filling. It comes with fresh fruit and toast. The coffee is OK and comes in sets of 2 (one cup and one refill) for 1.50.||They also have decent pancakes.||||ESA has indoor seating by the lobby but where you really want to sit is outside on the porch, overlooking the bay. Its a decent place to have a casual breakfast and a nice view.||||There is a single toilet in the lobby that is quite cramped but functions.||||The staff is friendly but sometimes forgetful (particularly when it comes to coffee refills.) Also, its best to hold off on your refill until your cup is empty, other wise you may get a 'top up' that counts as your refill.||||Some of the staff at the restaurant cash register also sell local jewelry, so you can ask them about it when you check out. The bracelets are a bit pricey but beautiful trochus shell.||||I have not stayed in the hotel but I have visited their gift shop. There is not much of a selection and it is only opened when you ask for it. However, they do have some interesting postcards which are not easily found on the island. Just ask at the front desk and they will open up the...

Very enjoyable stay, I was in a spot of bother after our boat was badly damaged during a Typhoon in the Atoll of Woleai 380mile from Yap. After being towed by a fishing boat for 4 days we arrived at the Yap Fishing Co Op dock at 1am in the morning to be greeting by Debbie and the team from ESA with room keys and a rental car, (AT 1am) I ended up staying a few months while sorting repairs to the boat, the team at ESA treated my like family, I truly mean that, New Year's Day 2014 I fell from the boat and busted my ankle, I visited the hospital and got patched up and headed back to the hotel then hobbled up the stairs but was spotted by the ESA staff, from then I was treated to true family owned business hospitality. If I didn't come down to the Restarant to eat my room phone would ring, "Glen have you eaten would you like us to fix something and bring it to your room, if you need anything at the store we will go and fetch it for you etc" A really cool place to stay for work business or play, nice outdoor area, great Restarant and nice clean comfitable rooms. Thanks guys for a great place to rest...

The hotel included a bakery, convenience store, car rental and a restaurant. It's located on the bay bank opposite to Colonia's main drag. The bay offers a great view of the bay and both sunrise and sunset always offer a daily palette of rich colors. Occupied a unit on the 3rd floor, room with basic furnishings but included a ref and roku tv. I liked most the a/c and the balcony. Most of the time the hotel was quiet even with guests. Microwave and water dispenser at reception. ESA restaurant at ground floor offers a selection of japanese, chinese and american fare with unique local flavors at reasonable price. Last but not least a shout out to are the friendlly staff and reliable airport shuttle service thats included.

This place is amazing! No doubt you will not like it. Rooms are comfortable and employees are wonderful. You have everything there, restaurant, convenient store, a local basketball court across, car rental, scooter, and last but not least the best view at the back. i recommend you book your stay there to enjoy your stay in Yap.
