I do not recommend coming to Mana Island resort My husband and I traveled to Fiji and chose to stay at Mana Island resort for our honeymoon we arrived January 29th 2025 and were suppose to stay until February 5th. Upon arrival to Fiji (after our near 20 hour flight from the USA) the resort had set us up transportation to the port to be able to catch the boat to get to the island. Our tour driver offered to sell us crystal meth along with other drugs near immediately (of course we denied and were immediately uncomfortable) we will fast forward to our arrival at the resort, first thing we are told is that there are wild dogs on the island, and to not leave anything outside it would be at risk of being taken. there were signs posted everywhere that if something went missing and we couldn’t prove they took it it’s not on them. (Sketchy but okay) the wild dogs travel in a pack of at least 7 and there large dogs they jump a lot and tried to follow us into our bure and waited outside the door for us once we went inside. One of the dogs had my full hand in its mouth and scratched me on my way back from the beach. We chose a beachfront Bure with a hot tub we were placed in room 204. We could tell walking to our room the place is very run down so much construction and work being done and broken items all around. We entered our room the windows were wide open with no screens letting the bugs in. We start closing the windows and find a lizard in our room, we got the lizard out and noticed half the windows don’t shut and that there were gaping holes under the doors we could slide our hand under. The floor was disgusting dirty and so old walking on it plastic would stick to your feet from the floor boards. The hot tub was very dirty along with every towel being stained with brown and other colored marks. We went for food and a lot of the food was not good from the Buffett and due to all the windows having no screens tons of bugs would land on the food constantly. On our second day there it was raining quite heavily so we planned to relax in the Bure in the hot tub, to find out we had a leak in our ceiling around a light dripping into the hot tub I called and long story short after 4 hours of waiting for someone to come check the room and to be given a new room and many back and forth calls we were moved to room 203. We entered and again all windows wide open my husband starts closing them and we are already noticing how dirty this room is and the bugs when we see an even bigger lizard in this room than the last. We grabbed our stuff and went back to the previous room we already killed tons of bugs in and blocked up a lot of the holes with towels. After telling reception and the second lizard we have found (what’s the chance in there being lizards in both rooms they put us in (also what was the chance there wouldn’t be another in the next room) ) I spoke to management and complained about the endless issues they first offered a free dinner due to our trouble. I already had paid for meals I booked our flights home for the next day the resort did not feel safe everything was old, we went to the swim zone and there are so many animals and corals in the water it didn’t seem safe to swim. Why was the swim zone also the place people scuba dived?? Also our bure was a beachfront bure but you were told to not go into the water most o the day because it’s to dangerous to walk to the other side of the island for the swim zone. Why did I pay extra for a beach I shouldn’t use and for a hot tub that’s disgusting. The staff were very friendly but overall this was a terrible experience I would not recommend this resort to anyone traveling here we easted so much money and left on the third day because it was so bad We would have left a day sooner but we’re stuck on the island due to there only being three boats off the island a day. It was a terrible experience i dont know how this hotel has 4stars its a 2 star at best and thats only because of the natural beauty and the kind people working at the resort do not waste your...

Excellent service and amazing location! My partner and I stayed over the super busy New Year’s Eve period so there were a lot of families, but we booked the best room for people wanting privacy- the beachfront bure. We were in room 203. The room is quite large and has a big deck with a big day bed. Steps lead down to your own private sun loungers and umbrella right on the beach (it became obvious that some people thought they were public chairs so we had to leave our towels down there to avoid people taking them, but it was fine!)

The bed was comfortable and the AC was cold. All toiletries were provided and you get a special turquoise pool towel if you stay in these rooms. The mini fridge worked great as well and they provide coffee and tea making facilities in the room. There’s a huge spa bath that we only used once but it was also great!

The resort is older and yes, needs some attention in some places, but you aren’t there for the resort when the beaches are so beautiful. Great snorkeling off the north and south beaches and you can walk to the viewpoint which overlooks the island and we even walked to sunset beach which is super isolated (it does back up to staff housing but they are still far away). There is a complimentary shuttle that takes you to sunset beach too. The little chapel is beautiful and was a great stop off on the walk around the island.

The food was always fresh and there are themed nights so the variety is good. We missed breakfast a couple times because it’s from 6:30-9:30am, but dinner runs from 6-9pm so we always made that one. The curry was delicious and every morning there is a fresh omelette station. We also had lunch from their a la carte menu and service was fast and food was great for the location. For us it was just perfect with pizza, burgers and chips on the menu. Lots of other things too.

Menu prices are typical at $25 FJD for fancy cocktails, $11 FJD for spirits with a mixer and same price for beers. We heard many people complain about prices, but compared to Australia, they are lower than what you would pay over here at a resort so we were happy. Just bring your duty free booze and you’ll be all set! They will give you buckets of ice at any bar for free.

The little shop is very limited but they do sell snacks and drinks. 1L water was $10 FJD and beers were the same price as the bars. Everything was ICE cold too. I’d recommend just buying water and beers there to avoid hauling it on the boat.

The jet skiing is a must from the dive shop. Bill was great and took us to some amazing spots and we even got to feed the fish. Again, yes you pay for it $550 FJD for 50min but it was a private tour and well worth it.

We went by the backpackers one day for cheap beers (I can’t recall the price but it was way less than the hotel). Everyone was so friendly and the beers were ice cold. Apparently they have food, but we didn’t have any. So definitely give that a try if you wanna get away from the hotel.

Ben at Vonu Bar at the hotel was so helpful and friendly. It’s right on the beach but this side seemed to be more crowded with families (South Beach, by the jetty) so we avoided it most of the trip.

We spent most time at the North Beach (the side where the pools are). Maybe all the families were using the pools and so the beach was basically empty for us. You don’t need to leave your private loungers if you book the beachfront bure!

Be sure you pick up your free snorkel gear early in the day because we saw them run out due to the volume of guests.

The spa is also worth a visit! If you book as a couple, you’ll be in the same room.

The gym had more free weights than I expected. You can get a good workout in there if you know what you’re doing.

Don’t bother getting WiFi as they charge and the signal is weak! Instead, enjoy being switched off on a fabulous holiday!

I think some people who give this place bad reviews stayed in the older rooms so do yourself a favor and splurge on the better room! And get yourself into Fiji mode…life moves slower hear and that’s...

If I could give this dreamy resort more than 5 stars I would. It was absolutely perfect! We got married here on September 18th and I cannot rave about it enough. It was the most magical and brilliant experience. Everything was beyond expectation. The location and natural beauty, the service, the spa, the restaurants, the accommodation, the activities, the entertainment, the pools, the beaches and above all, the people. I cannot fault it.

When I read the other reviews in the lead up, I was a little nervous, but I couldn't be more grateful that I didn't let it sway our choice. If I could convey ONE thing through this review, it is to please not listen to the people complaining and please do not worry about what you will find at Mana because choosing not to come because of that would be so sad and you would be missing out on something so special. I honestly feel really bad for the people who came to a STUNNING tropical island with lush greenery, turquoise waters, white sands, beautiful rooms with unique outdoor showers under the palm trees and stars, delicious food, incredible and attentive and kind staff, magical pools, adventure walking trails, wonderful snorkeling, exciting activities, an immaculate spa, refreshing cocktails and every amenity you may need yet they still choose to focus on a scuff mark on the floor, slightly chipped paint or a room that seems "tired." Like seriously? You shouldn't even be in your room (which ARE actually clean, cool, comfortable and entirely lovely). Go outside and get some perspective. I am sorry but these people writing bad reviews must be super negative people or very privileged because it is impossible to feel anything but happy, blissful and thankful while on Mana if you are putting your attention on what really matters. It is our new HAPPY PLACE and we can't wait to come back again.

We had 106 friends and family staying at Mana with us and everyone absolutely loved it. It is perfect for families with extensive food options, the endless activities and attentive kids club and it is perfect for couples with romantic room options, blissful spa treatments, incredible live music for dancing at night and unique dining experiences. I would also recommend it for a big friends trip as our friends all had amazing experiences together exploring the island, snorkeling and taking advantage of the amazing swim up bar.

We stayed in the garden bure and were moved to the beachfront bures as it came with our wedding package so we got to experience both. Loved both. If you can swing it, the beachfront bure is one of the most luxe and special accomodations we've ever had the pleasure of staying in.

I could write another entire review about the wedding itself, but I don't think Tripadvisor will let me, so I will just say that it was PERFECT. Every single thing was exactly as I envisioned or better. The wedding team is so attentive and responsive and made us feel completely looked after in the lead up and so special during our stay. I was in contact with them for over a year and never once questioned that I was in capable and experienced hands. They accommodate every request and nothing was too much for them to handle. I couldn't be happier with how it all went and could not recommend it higher to anyone considering Fiji for their wedding. Trust me, we did ALL the research. Mana has the best wedding package for value and we couldn't be more impressed with what they created for us. I could go on and on and rave about every single part. The BIGGEST thank you to Ashnita and Ashika, you are amazing people and so good at what you do! It was the best week of our lives!!

All in all, come and experience the magic of Mana for yourself. It was everything and more. We are officially part of the Mana family and will be back again soon!

Love and gratitude to every staff member who touched our lives during our wedding week! Miss...

And get yourself into Fiji mode…life moves slower hear and that’s a good thing!

Trending Stays Worth the Hype in Mana Island

Miss you already!
