We stayed in Long Beach two nights from the 29/11-19 to 01/12-19 and to be honest, it was a disappointment. The island itself is extremely beautiful with good hiking treks, snorkeling options and an amazing beach. A note though, is that you can't swim during low tide due to stingrays, which means no swimming from 12:00 till around 20:00, which we didn't know when booking. The reason Long Beach only obtains 1-star in my opinion, is due to the staff. The staff lacked severe enthusiasm and seemed demotivated to undertake any of the several activities able in the resort, even though some of the activities included extra payment for the resort. When you pay this amount of money, you expect the staff to be willing to help, when you want to participate in their offered activities. If you wanted to do snorkeling, it was a 50/50% chance (if even) whether the staff would actually take you and it required persistence. I know the term 'Fiji time' is very present on the islands, which means that the staff can relax as well, but in this resort it was just absurd. For instance 3 english fellas wanted to go night spearfishing, but ended up staying up all night and not being taken out. Furthermore they wanted to go to church service sunday morning, but the guy meant to take them just disappeared when approached sunday morning, and they just ended up missing the church service. Furthermore no activities can be done sunday (only the free treks on your own), since it is "church service" (church lasts from 8:30 to 10:00). None of the staff actually went, but they take the sunday off anyway, which i think definitely should be present on the booking site. We persistently asked to go snorkeling in Blue Lagoon monday morning as it was scheduled for 09:30, which finally happened with a delay of 30-45 minutes. The staff seemed almost angry to take us and tried to convince us to go snorkeling at the back of the island instead, since Blue Lagoon would be crowded (When we arrived, we were the only snorkeleres there). It seemed as if they just lacked motivation and tried to find an excuse for not going to the Blue Lagoon, as we had been promised we could go to the night before.||Another huge downside was the food. First of all the food is portioned by the kitchen for lunch and dinner, which meant you often would be hungry afterwards, since it was quite small portions. Lunch was at 12:00 and dinner at 20:00, which meant you often were starving at dinner time and the possibility to buy snacks during the day was limited to small bags of chips and cookies and in limited stock as well. Furthermore, the food served swung widely in quality. One day we had overcooked pasta with a small portion of cold diced tomato on top for lunch, which was almost uneatable, while the other day we had an almost decent vegetarian stir fry with rice and veggies. We didn't have high expectations to the food upon arrival, but we still expected to be full at least.||We came directly to Long Beach Resort from Naqalia Lodge, which was the total opposite. All in all a disappointment for my friend and i, but we kept to ourselves and enjoyed the beautiful beach and the free treks that the resort still offers. To be honest, I would recommend anyone going to the Yasawa Islands to find...

With that being said, it is not possible to go swimming during low tide because of stingrays hiding in the sand in shallow waters which is most of the day. ||||There was a general lack of enthusiasm among the staff. Service levels were low and general enquiries about buying water/coffee or requesting activities seemed as if we were interrupting the staff and causing inconveniences. The least you can do to keep a few tourists impressed in Fiji is to seem like you care. It shouldn't take more than that as the nature of Fiji and the surroundings of Long Beach Island is too impressive to ruin. Despite this, the staff succeeded in keeping us disappointed. ||||Sundays start with a Sunday church service at the local village for whoever wants to participate. Even though only a small amount of the staff actually went to the church, they do not offer any activities all Sunday. ||||We were left to ourself all day with 7-8 hours between lunch at 12 and dinner somewhere between 19-20. Food was horrible. One meal at lunch consisted of overcooked spaghetti with ketchup. That had to keep us going for 7 hours before dinner. It was not possible to buy anything to eat apart from small bags of chips.||||Every other place we went to in the Yasawa islands, the staff had been doing everything possible to make sure we had the best time and go to do as many different activities as possible. At Long Beach, even though most of the activities required us to pay additional fees, the staff really just wanted to have a drink at night and play their guitars. Out of the 3 days we were at the Long Beach, it was only possible to go snorkling once. Rest was just on island activities that did not require any staff interaction. ||||We really hope you step your game up as this was simply just not...
