Rarely do I find myself at a loss for words when writing a review, but it has been incredibly difficult to put into words how utterly extraordinary our experience has been with Nicky and Col at Natabe Retreat. Before our arrival, we were candidly unsure of what to expect. We were captivated by the idea of Natabe Retreat, but reality far surpassed anything we could have imagined. Always up for an adventure, we embarked on this journey with excitement, and it turned out to be the trip of a lifetime.||Leading up to our stay, Nicky's communication was seamless, warm, and incredibly informative. From the moment we arrived in the Island Hopper helicopter (an experience we can't recommend highly enough), we were welcomed literally and figurately with open arms by Col and Nicky. The breathtaking beauty of Tavewa Island and the paradise that was to be our home for the next ten days left us speechless. Every detail of Natabe Retreat radiates the love, dedication, and pride that Col and Nicky have poured into this sanctuary. Their warmth and genuine hospitality touched every aspect of our stay.||Throughout our stay, we were enveloped in luxury and comfort. Our days were filled with thrilling scuba diving, enlightening village visit, laid-back fishing trip, mesmerizing snorkeling adventures, serene reading sessions, blissful relaxation, fun-filled games, invigorating hikes, awe-inspiring cave trip, rejuvenating naps, and so much more. ||During our recent stay, we were absolutely blown away by the incredible cooking of Nicky, our chef extraordinaire. From breakfast to dinner, every meal was a masterpiece, leaving us eagerly anticipating the next culinary creation. Nicky poured an immense amount of care, love, skill, and ingenuity into every dish she prepared. Her dedication to using local, fresh, and organic ingredients was evident, and each meal felt like an exploration of flavors and textures. It will be hard to write this review without sounding like I’m reiterating on previous guests thoughtful, sincere, and genuine reviews. I will try my best to elaborate in a creative way, on a lot of things that have already been said. I don’t even know where to begin. Simply put, nobody does life like Nicky and Col. They are beyond special, pure souls on this earth. You can see and feel that they’re truly living their purpose and passion in this life that we get, and by the time you leave, they will instill this invigorating energy in you, to go live your dream, if you are not already. They are flourishing at providing a life changing experience for their guests, which is a second to none experience. From their knowledge of the Fijian islands, to their well roundedness in life, to their exquisite, fresh, delicious, variety of food that they serve, to the care and pride that they take in their home, land, and island, to honestly everything that they do, it just can’t be matched, and they treat their guests like royalty. I’m in awe and inspired writing this review about the two of them. From the bottom of my heart, I can’t thank them enough for changing my life in a more positive way, and I have so much respect and admiration for both of them. Now, onto the property, ocean, and Tavewa island. The place and area is distinctive, exclusive, and unique. I can assure, this place in unparalleled to anything else on earth. Living off grid but with all the modern amenities sounds paradoxical but Nicky and Col made this happen. You have to see it and feel it to believe it, and then you will realize this place is unsurpassed. If you’re looking for that vacation to unplug from the modern hustling world that most of us live in, and detach from everything except reefs, nature, crystal clear waters, and the most caring hosts, then this place is for you. This is not a resort with all the people, this is much more intimate and personalized. This is Nicky and Col’s home that they open up to you and they make you feel like it’s your home too. The design of their glass and steel home is magnificent. It captures rain water, runs through a multiple filtration system, leaving your hair and skin feeling silky smooth. It’s powered by solar energy, and has a beautiful water feature running through the whole inside of the house. With all of the floor to ceiling windows, sliding doors, letting natural light in the house, makes the indoor outdoor living experience seamless. Plenty of outdoor seating areas in different areas that are well positioned to soak in all of the diverse, exotic views. Waking up to the birds chirping, and the occasional sound of the ocean waves crashing in the background leaves you happy from the moment you wake up. If you’re looking to rejuvenate and nourish your mind and body, then this is the trip you need to take. I can only hope that Nicky and Col continue this beautiful place on for as long as they can, because this is legendary, and will have to go down as the best unplugged vacation experience on the entire globe. I’m pretty sure there will be a book written on this place and them someday. I’m very humbled, honored, and grateful to have been able to meet Nicky and Col, and spend time in their beautiful paradise. This is by far the best vacation I’ve ever taken.
