Kartano Kievari — Hotel in Äänekoski sub-region

I decided to spend a night here, because it was nicely located on my route and not too far from Saarijärvi where I did some cross country skiing. ||||When I arrived, the place did not look too inviting: a huge main building that was clearly some kind of a celebration venue and/ or a dansing hall and a chubby looking separate building where the rooms where. And here stops my negative mood/ comments: The room was actually very nice and comfortable. The very thick walls and a relatively lately done renovations made the room actually rather stylish.||||The breakfast was very good indeed - crowned by home made rye bread. ||||Checking in and out had been made contactless (due to Covid 19) and was very handy. I did, however, meet during the breakfast the couple that owns and runs the place: they were very nice, friendly and helpful.||||I suppose that one should not end a review with a negative note, but please do remember that you need to drive some 20km to...

En pysty kommentoimaan tätä hotellina. Itseasiassa kävin täällä sisällä ensimmästä kertaa sitten 80-luvun kuultuani, että burgerit ovat hyvät. Olivathan ne, mutta niistä kohta lisää. Miksi sitten 80-luvulla tuli käytyä kievarilla? No mummollani taisi tuolloin olla pieni uhkapeliharrastus, jota pappani ei tarkan markan insinöörismiehenä arvostanut yhtään. Mummo siis ajelutti minut juomaan pillimehua tai limpparia kievarille, kun hän pelasi hedelmäpeliä salaa. Mites se valkoroskainen seinätaulu/tatuointiviisaus menee "where is a will, there is a way" tms.. muuta pseudofiksua mikä on ilmeisesti poimittu alunperin 1800-luvun englantilaisen filosofi George Herbertin kirjoituksista. Ainakin näin googlen ai-yhteeveto väitti. Kannattanee tarkistaa faktat, ai-juttuihin ei voi luottaa, mutta minä olen ihminen niin minuun voi luottaa. Eli alla nyt kommetti burgerista:

Burgereista voidaan sanoa, että ainakin smashburgeri on vimoisen päälle hyvä. Jos ette tiedä mikä on smashburgeri, niin siinä pihvi on paistettu kuumalla pannulla tai grillilevyllä ohueksi ja rapeaksi, niin että se ei kuitenkaan ole kuiva. Pihvi on ohut, siksi niitä kannattaa ottaa burgeriin kaksi. Tutkimusteni mukaan tämä on optimaalinen, etenkin jos pihvien väliin on laittettu juusto. Homman juju on siinä, että rapea maillard-reaktion tuottama proteiinien makoisuus suorastaan räjähtää suussa herkullisena lihaisuutena. Kievarin grillillä pihvit oli tehty juuri oikein ja vielä hyvästä laadukkaasta lähilihasta. Burgerin sämpyläkin oli hyvä, ei liian jankkinen vaan juuri sopiva, höysteet olivat kohdallaan. Jos jotain olisin muuttanut omasta tilauksestani niin ehkä olisin ottanut tulisella chilisoosilla. Täytyy käydä siis uusiksi, niin hyvää oli. Ranskanperunatkin muuten olivat tosi hyvät.

Kannattaa siis tulla kievarin grillille syömäään. Lopultakin Äänekoski on saanut helvetin hyvän katuruokapaikan keskelle maaseudun idylliä. Tämä on herkullisuudessa verrattavissa grill roomiin, eli tulkaa tuonnekin syömään, että ei minun tarvitse kesämökkimatkalla jonottaa grill roomilla...

I stayed at this hotel on a tour with a group travelling in the middle of Finland. I was given a room in a building next to the head building. I was only a member of a group, so they maybe didn’t want to give me a decent room. The room was rather good, but the bathroom in the room was very modest. The bathroom had a WC and a shower, but no mirror, no shelf for the toilet requisite, no shower cabin, not even curtains around the shower, so the water flood all over the bathroom.
