Gammelgård Pizza & Padel Resort — Hotel in Aboland

Spent one night at Gammelgard B&B in Nagu in late June with a friend. We were cycling in the archipelago for three days and this was one of our two B&B experiences during the trip.||||We booked Gammergard via the archipelago's common information service www.saaristo.org||||Our rate for the B&B service in a room without bathroom was EUR 83, ie. including the overnight stay and breakfast for two people.||||Finding Gammelgard was a bit difficult as there was no direct street address for the place on the website and there were no good signs in Nagu center to point us to the correct place. We did had a vague map we had printed from the website of the place and using that as well as common sense we found the place. It's located about 10 minute leisurly bike ride from the Nagu guest harbor.||||The Gammelgard atmosphere reminded me of an older farm house. Most of the rooms they rent seem to be located in the main building but there are a couple separate buildings as well which included some rooms to my understanding.||||Our room was on the first floor of the main building and it was quite spacious for two people. There were two beds, a sofa bed, a closet for clothes as well as desk. ||||Although the room was clean (not spotless clean, however) it would need serious updating in order to make it more comfortable. The textiles and furniture were from the 70's I guess.||||We were close to the bathroom and two separate toilets, so we did find it was easy to use them even though we didn't have a bathroom or toilet of our own. ||||As for the room, the bathroom and toilets were clean but not spotless clean and would require updating.||||One of the buildings serves as a pizzeria and we ate there that evening. Pizza was delicious and service very friendly. The pizzas cost about EUR 9 and a glass of wine was about EUR 5t.||||Breakfast was served in the dining hall of the main building from 8 to 10. Bfast consisted of porridge, cerials, bread, ham, cheese, milk, juice, coffee and tea. Very basic but enough to start the day.||||All in all it was an okay B&B experience but if they did some updating with the property the place would be much nicer. Lähdimme majoitukseen maltillisin odotuksin mutta varsinainen kokemus oli lopulta aivan järkyttävä. Vessat olivat käytävällä, samoin (likainen) suihku. Tästä ei ollut selkeää tietoa majoitusta varattaessa. Majoitus muistutti kaikin puolin kesäleiriä teineille. Huoneessa ei ollut minkäänlaista äänieristystä. Käytävän todella kirkas valo paistoi huoneeseemme ja jokainen narahdus, ovien narina, askeleet ja kolina kuului huoneeseemme. Huoneissa ei ollut lukuvaloa eikä pimentäviä verhoja. Emme juuri nukkuneet koko yönä.

Saavuimme majoitukseen aika myöhään illalla. Onneksi tajusimme tilata jo matkalla seuralaiselle pizzan, muuten olisimme jääneet kokonaan ilman ruokaa. Pizzan tekeminen vegaanisena ei jostain syystä onnistunut laisinkaan, vaikka pizzojen ainesosina oli cavi-artia, aurinkokuivattua tomaattia, rucolaa, kirsikkatomaattia ja oliiveja. Itselle jäi olo, että kyseessä lähinnä asenneongelma. Kauniina kesäiltana terassi sulkeutui klo 21, jonka jälkeen viereisellä padel-kentällä aloittivat mekastuksen ilmeisesti känniset kesätyöntekijät.

Piha oli todella epäsiisti. Keskelle viheraluetta lojui jonkinlainen kuntoilulaite ja rikkinäinen lasten pihakeinu. Pihapiiri ja talon reunustat myös kasvoivat korkeaa rikkaruohoa. Terassilla lojui tyhjiä juomapulloja ja käsipyyhepapereita. Taaimmaiset terassipöydät oli sijoitettu niin, että näkymä lähinnä pizzerian takana olevalle roskikselle. Opasteet ja kyltit toteutettu vanerilevylle tussilla :/

Aamiaiseksi olisi ollut pussi-croisantteja ja jonkinlaista valmissämpylää. Jo hieman yhdeksän jälkeen tarjoiltavat olivat lopussa. Muutama siivu kinkkua ja pari siivua kurkkua olisi vielä ollut kaavittavissa lautasten pohjalta. Pyysimme aamiaisesta maksamamme rahat takaisin ja kaasutimme suorinta tietä lähimmälle ABC:lle.

Itselle jäi myös olo, että koko paikkaa pyörittää kesäharjoittelijat. Yhtään aikuista ei näkynyt.

Kokemus kiteyttää mielestäni hyvin Suomi-matkailun. Puitteet olisi vaikka mihin, mutta kunnioitus vieraita kohtaan täysin olematonta. Rengastien varrella löytyy kyllä tarpeeksi hölmöläisiä astumaan ansaan, mutta uudestaan ei tee mieli palata näihin maisemiin. Kavereille en...

Overpriced, too many people for too few facilities. €110 euros for a tiny cupboard room. Fifty people and two unisex toilets (and one in the gendered, tiny shower room), meant queues to use the toilet! And they ran out of toilet paper. Not enough tables and chairs to sit down for breakfast, a queue there too. Noisy, requires ear plugs. They could easily convert a couple of box rooms into more toilets and showers, and buy more tables and chairs (there was space). Breakfast was cheap, as in cheap products, bad coffee and cordial instead of juice. No masks on anyone and no signs to encourage social distancing.
