We never ar so welcomed and helped at a vacation as here, by the lovingkindness and service of the owners and hostes of Paksuniemen Satamakahvilla; Tomi Hellane and Jouni Honkanen.||||From the first moment we were surpriced by their welcoming: everything was very good prepaired! When we arrived the sauna was glowing for us and friendly other guest welcomed us by a drink.||||Its is a litlle paradise, if you like the beautifull harbor, the overwhelming nature, the silence and the friendly people. If you want to see more, we recommendate to rent a car, so you can make beautifull daytrips, for exemple to the city Joensu. Read moreWe had a family meeting with cousins here one weekend from Sat to Sun in June. There are four rooms in old dairy building and rooms where decorated according old dairy workers name and different colours: Hilja maitotyttö - pink room (Hilja milk girl), Tonkkamies - blue room (milk churn men) etc... Today dairy premises are equipped for cider production (1st awards from GB in cider category). Rooms are in the dairy building are on 2nd floor with common washing room (wc) and coffee maker, refrigerator with milk. Showers are on 1st floor.||And one bigger room for six or eight person to overnight together. And restaurant and reception building.||Food is mostly old Finnish Carelian food using lot of butter, cream, salt. So, to taste...
Read moreWe ate dinner, spent the night with 3 kids and enjoyed a very generous brunch, included in the price of the rooms, the next morning. The dinner was good, very tasty muikku and a pizza that was excellent. It was karaoke night at the restaurant so the kids got to hear some music and dance to the tango. The rooms were spotless and charmingly decorated. My bedroom had a calming view of the lake. Brunch the next morning was excellent and exceeding generous. The omelette was absolutely fantastic. This place totally exceeded my expectations and I'll be back when visiting friends in the area next year. Kids got to swim at cute little beach and watch the boats...
