Holiday Club Salla — Hotel in Eastern Lapland

It was the most beautiful accommodation we ever had in 26 years of RCI membership. Located in a wonderful, quiet forest, at 10 km from Salla town, Salla Holiday Club offers a lot of possibilities to enjoy the surroundings: ski, sleigh ride, Salla Wilderness Park. We chose 3 activities offered by the wilderness park: ice fishing, husky safari and reindeer safari. A unique experience with wonderful, warm people who are making evry effort to explain details about nature, wild life and living in the north. Arriving at the end of November , the ski slope was open so we also had this option to enjoy. After all activities we returned to a very comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with sauna and fireplace which we used every single day. Outside there is a cabin log with firewood and you can freely take from there every time you need to make the fire in the fireplace. It is unimaginable how comfortable it was. The pillows were very soft, one of the bedrooms was on the first floor, livingroom very spacious and the kitchen equipped with even more than everything you need. In the summer every apartment has 2 bicycles which you can use to visit the surroundings. Anyway, it is advised to have a car to fully enjoy the area. We rented a car from Rovaniemi, it is a 2 hour drive to Salla and the road, even it were -15 degree Celsius outside, was clean and safe to drive. Anyway the most of the road had 80 km/h speed limit. Booked via Expired. Not sure what the area had to offer. We went for a log cabin studio apartment. With no real expectation of how good this would be, I have to say we were surprised the accommodation is great, beautifully designed and furnished with a log burner. Out side of our cabin the scenery was stunning. Due to the position of the cabins it really felt lie that were the only cabin around as they are very well spaced out and due to being in the forest we could not see any of the other cabins.||Beautiful and relaxing place to spend a week away from it all.||The holiday club is attached to the Salla ski resort. Which at the time of our visit wasn’t open for skiing as the season hadn’t started at the time if our visit.||Ideal place to stay if you are looking for peace...

Booked a two night stay for 4 people. Price was very affordable and the room was a decent size and clean. Kitchen had all necessities like knives, plates, detergent to wash the dishes, which was very neat. Beds were very comfortable and the atmosphere was cozy. Only downside was the low sitting kitchen hood above the stove to which I hit my head at least 12 times during the short stay. Also the table did fit 4 people but you had to squeeze in there due to the small space. Bathroom was very spacy and it was appreciated that the room had a separate toilet on top of the one present in the main bathroom.
