I booked over the telephone the same evening and arrived a bit late because of roadworks along the way. The janitor on site checked me in and I got my room. Was even offered free use of the common sauna, but was too tired after the long drive. Very affordable price (49€) but also no frills. The exteriors of the houses are a bit crude and the same style continues inside. Creaking floors and an interesting mish-mash of old stuff. The room itself is surprisingly good and even if it's old and worn down everything works and it is generally clean. Fridge, sink with tap, TV. Toilets and showers on the corridor. Very small kitchen also available for the guests. Some rooms also have their own toilets, showers and kitchenettes, but are then also more expensive. I had two tidyly made beds and neatly folded towels of hotel standard quality, which was quite surprising. The clientele is perhaps what brings the experience down the most: Russian and Estonian working men who were talking loudly in the corridor and preparing dinner in the kitchen in the middle of the night. Some strange smells were coming from the next door room and some neighbour was smoking nearby so that I couldn't keep the window open. That's not the fault of the business, but rather a natural side effect of being the most affordable accommodation in the region.
I myself got my moneys worth, and then some, and would highly recommend this place for those who travel on a budget and have reasonable...
Read moreThe Jamsan Gasthaus is like a family hotel. We used to spend our Christmas Vacation here for a few years with my family. The rooms vary from cheap ones (with toilet on the floor) to separate apartments with kitchen and everything you need. The dining room is huge and kind of shares place with the game area. There is billiard table. table tennis, karaoke, piano, table games. The breakfast is filling and good if you plan to ski for the whole day. Dinners are cooked on request and are super delicious! A free bus from nearby ski resort comes to pick you up and bring back at certain time. After ski you can dry your clothes in the special room and warm yourself in a big, very good, wooden sauna. There is fireplace in the rest area, you can bring beer along and enjoy your evening very well. It's not a luxury hotel, no, but friendly personal easily compensate the...
