These holiday cottages are actually a part of a now defunct ski resort Vehmasrinteet. You cannot downhill ski here anymore, but the cottages are still available for rent year-round. The place is remote and idyllic. Nearest grocery store is 25 kilometers away in Joutsa and there are no major roads nearby. This means you can enjoy Finnish nature wholeheartedly. Only downside is that the cottages are built quite near to each other, so you will see (and hear) your neighbor when you are admiring the view to the lake Suontee from the terrace. One could also pick blueberries (there were lots of them) just a couple of meters away from the cottage. ||||Most of the cottages are built in the 70s but renovated in the turn of the century. They retain a charming 70's feel. Cottages have running water, a stove and a fridge but there is no TV.
