Hotel Aateli — Hotel in Kajaani sub-region

We stayed here during off-season. The hotel and the room in itself were great, although it would have probably been even nicer during winter. ||||The staff were very pleasant but it was obvious that they were understaffed and that created some unfortunate situations. ||||The food in the restaurant was tasty but they definitely would have needed more backup. We waited for our desserts for 50 mins and then had to cancel them in order to make it to our spa reservation. Luckily the breakfast was diverse and quiet.||||Zen spa was also a bit of a disappointment. Otherwise it would have been a great experience, but the hotel had forgotten to heat the sauna for our shift. So we weren't able to enjoy it properly. For this they offered us a free visit to the spa for the next time, but unfortunately we probably won't be staying there again.||||Hopefully in the future the management reserves more staff also...

New hotel smell is nice one, everything works and materials are good.||Zen spa is excellent, new experience for us. Could be fun to arrange parties there also.||Spa costs extra, but price is quite low so you can consider paying for it with room price. Room price is quite expensive.||||During our stay rooms were not cleaned, which was OK for us and didn't complain. Just mention because it was little odd, but good odd.||||There was tea water heater in the room, but no cups and no tea bags nor instant coffee. Maybe they are available from reception, but they should be in the room for hotel in this...

We stayed one night and were pleasantly surprised of this new hotel. ||Our room had a very cute little sauna which was perfect for the two of us after a long day of driving.||The room was very nicely decorated, everything looked like it was done with quality and atmosphere in mind. The huge bed was one of the most comfortable ones I’ve had in hotels. A nice addition was also the big balcony and it was super quiet there.||The only small downside in this room was the ”all in one” shapoo/shower gel dispenser, which didn’t match the overal quality feeling...
