Oivangin Lomakartano Oy — Hotel in Koillismaa sub-region

The accommodation was well appointed, clean and very welcoming. We had a 4 bedroom cabin overlooking the lake. Plenty of room for the 6 of us plus a sauna. |The cabins are set in the woods and are well away from each other. It was picture postcard perfect. ||Prior to arrival I had emailed many many questions - all of which were answered. |Our principal host Kalle arranged snowmobile safari and husky safari. Both were well organised and very accessible. |There is a restaurant on site in which we ate our evening meals. They were single menu items which we had pre booked. The meals were three courses, first and dessert served at the table and the main was a buffet style - good for us as we could choose our quantities- there was also no shortage! ||We had a problem with our hire car and so caught a cab to the accommodation where Kalle sorted us another car. That saved the day. ||We were able to access our cabin early and were lucky enough to be able to keep it past our checkout time as they had nobody booked in until the next day. ||Ruka is approximately 15km away. It is a ski resort with bars and restaurants. I don’t know what the slopes are like as we are not a family of skiers. We, a family of three generations (10 persons) stayed in the Singer lodge with 9 bedrooms which were clean on arrival and very cosy.|The cabins on the first floor were rather small with limited height (especially for Dutch people...) but the beds were extremely comfortable.|The kitchen was well equipped, but we did not use it, as we took all our meals in the nearby restaurant Ukonkivi.|Kalle and his father were perfect hosts.|The kitchen team was fantastic, they prepared very good local food, no shortage, with every day a "surprise dessert".|A "gluten free" meal was also provided for one of our grandchildren which was greatly appreciated.|Wifi and Sauna in the lodge were also very welcome.|The area around the lodge invited you for walks and the nearby lake is beautiful at sunset.|Young and old enjoyed our stay at the Singer.|The only thing we had to miss was the northern light but... just a good reason to go back again.|Thank you dear team for providing us an incredibly, wonderful holiday.|The...

We were 7 photographers. Wonderful log cabin with crackling fire and lovely aroma of a warm homemade soup awaited us on arrival. We were greeted by Tuula and Heikki , the whole of our stay with these lovely people was great. The restaurant is very near the cabin and the typically finnish food was so good. I suffer from migraines , so Tuula made special dishes for me avoiding the foods I am allergic to. What a great stay this was, not being ill for a whole week!. We had 3 bathrooms to share + the shower in the sauna.So that was fine, very clean. The bedroom had a big table which was very good for our photographic equipment.
