Perfect place for weekend hideaway on the shore of the majestic and beatiful sea of Kainuu a.k.a lake Oulujärvi.||We got a perfect spot for our caravan just besides the sandy beach. Sat on a chair for hours looking at the play of the sunrays on the surface of dead calm lake. Easy to see why Finnish nature was so inspirational for Sibelius.||The food was marvellous. The best fried zander I've ever eaten, and I've eaten few... Perfectly seasoned with rosepepper and as a side dish baked potatoes and remoulade sauce. Prepared by the sweet lady whose name I forgot. Next time I have to ask how she prepares the zander!||Rented a rowing boat and tried to catch zander. One of the nicest places in Finland for camping right on the beach. Parking places mostly in a single row on the shore instead of a grid lot, so feels spacious. Gorgeous sandy beach, very shallow water, big open lake ahead. Certainly puts you in holiday mood! Facilities okay, homely atmosphere of a small camping area on a budget (prices are quite moderate), but everything clean and works. Very friendly staff and no complaints, except that credit cards didn't work, cash or Mobile Pay ok. Lots of small things to do for the kids, small cable slide, even a small thrift store, a rickety minigolf and frisbee golf and such available. 30’(with our dog) and waited over an hour to find out if the rental was ready, when We got there it looked as if they didn’t even know I had a booking. I got fed up and my partner went to check things, when she finally found someone they said they couldn’t find me! It’s a tiny place and I was the only 1 waiting in the shop for a key for which rental they didn’t even know! That was that, we were all hot so we got our money back and left!!
