Wilderness Hotel Rokuanhovi — Hotel in Oulunkaari sub-region

We stayed with our dogs two nights. Evenb though there was a running and MTB contest in the are the ohotel had only a couple of customers which was kinda strange since everything worked quite well in Hotel Rokuanhovi. Couple of people stayed in the adjacent caravan area but othervise... spooky. Where was everybody?||||Reception area and the hotel terrace are renovated and very comfy indeed. Our room was in the basemet.. view from the room was nothing much but on the other hand we could enter the room from basement entrance which made life with our two dogs a bliss. Room itself was very basic, but clean. And yes, there was a cup and beds for our two dogs who still decided to sleep on the couch:-)||||Basic breakfast was on offer both mornings. The forest around the hotel is absolutely nice for outdoor activities, walking jogging or even fetching mushrooms during the fall and last but not least: incredible beautiful. The pine trees make the climate so good smelling and fresh that it must be experienced personally. The hotel rooms are a little bit different from ordinary. My room was divided in two segments: bottom floor with convertible beds and the top floor for the actual bedroom. Both floors have toilets, so you don’t have to climb the quite steep steps - more like a ladder - during the night time. The steps are well lighted so no problems with that, but could be a little bit challenging for handicapped people. The food during breakfast, and dinner is buffet served and I can promise it is good! If you ever think of going to a spa, choose this place, maybe it’s not close to anything but for sure it is worth visiting. I’m almost sure you return there if...

Incredible location, incredible place to stay - I stayed 2 nights and went for cross country skiing. The area is really amazing and the huts have everything you need. Service is also great - I arrived very late and couldn't find everything but I received personal guidance and felt well looked after. I recommend this place to everyone who is loving nature and want to enjoy the silence and beauty of the Rokua National Park. I'll come...
