We booked Kotatuli Home Lodge by chance, not knowing what to expect, but our stay—though just one night—was unforgettable. We arrived late, yet Katja, Joni, and their wonderful team welcomed us with incredible warmth, making us feel at home right away. The cabin is beautifully decorated with candles, lots of wood, and local crafts, creating a cozy and authentic atmosphere. Despite our short stay, our three young daughters fell in love with Kotatuli—they adored the charming house, the delicious breakfast, and, in the morning, the super friendly Dutch girl, who took them sledding and let them play with the dogs. After a week of traveling through Finland and staying in other beautiful places, our daughters keep begging to return to Kotatuli—a true sign of how special this place is. We wish we could have stayed longer and highly recommend staying at least two/three nights in this little authentic corner of the world to fully experience its magic.

After visiting Kotatuli again it was hard lo leave. The place is great, the winter scenery stunning but the people are the best. Always time to chat, happy to help and hospitable; and in the same time giving you the feeling to be part of Lapland life and not just another tourist. I would recommend everyone to go there. The Tiny house is very recommendable, in the middle of the forest, but enough view to spot the northern Lights, even from your bed. And after spotting it, you definitely have to step outside and watch from the lake. One more thing that I really can get hooked to is the sauna at the shore of the lake, some days combined with "avanto"; a hole in the ice for dipping in the lake

We did horseback riding and experienced the sauna at Kotatuli! It was a phenomenal experience! The hosts provided a horseback riding tour in the beautiful forest, followed by some sausage and cookies with coffee by an open fire in a very cozy hut. We also then got to experience their lovely sauna, mixed with jumping in the cold lake - a very exciting experience! Overall the hosts were very warm and welcoming, and shared lots of knowledge and experience regarding their horses, home, and lifestyle. The whole experience was very relaxing, yet also adventurous and nice. I would recommend it for families, couples, and even solo travelers!

My partner surprised me with horseback riding and sauna from here. This place is tucked back into the forest, giving it a surreal feel when you pull up.

The horses were adorable, very well trained, and patient with me (as I’ve never ridden a horse and was very nervous)! Katya was very instructive, reassuring, and quick to help out if needed. The ride through the forest was amazing in the fall (October), and the wildlife was gorgeous! During the ride, we learned about the history of the area and other facts about Finnish wilderness.

Afterwards, we got some nice treats and coffee in a traditional Finnish hut. We had the time to chat with our hosts a bit more, Katya and Joni, and they are absolutely lovely people.

Finally, we ended our trip with sauna and a cold dip in their lake. It was a serene way to end the day, and I couldn’t recommend it more! Visiting this place was definitely the...

As a solo traveller coming from Singapore, where I live in a concrete jungle, staying at Kotatuli was a very special experience surrounded by a peaceful and magical environment of the woods by the lake. The Joni, Katja, Veera were also very welcoming with heartfelt hospitality. It was a very homely environment and my accommodation in the glamping tiny house was extremely comfortable, very clean, well maintained and well-appointed where you are able to be totally immersive in nature with a beautiful view of the Autumn trees, the lake and wandering reindeer. My horse rides were very tranquil through the forest up to an amazing viewpoint. I also had the opportunity to fish by the lake was also a very special experience. My stay at Kotatuli has left me with great memories. Thank you Joni,...
