||1. Refund Policy and Ethical Standards: Upon our arrival on December 24th on a 4 Am flight, it was evident that there were no auroras visible in the sky. As soon as we arrive we immediately approached the reception to request a refund for the "Aurora photo hunting tour." Unfortunately, we were informed by a receptionist who appeared to lack experience that a refund was not possible due to the 24-hour cancellation policy. I explained to her that other excursion providers had refunded my friend's money as they were well aware that December 24th was extremely cloudy, making it highly unlikely to witness the Northern Lights. Despite the efforts of Maria, who tried to negotiate with the management on our behalf, we were unsuccessful in obtaining a refund. This situation has left me questioning the ethical standards of Safartica management.||2. Receptionist Inexperience: I must express my disappointment with the level of professionalism demonstrated by the receptionists, Maria and Nea. It was evident that they lacked proper training in hotel management. Whenever we approached them with inquiries or requests, their responses were strictly limited to following protocol, often resulting in unhelpful and negative answers.||3. Double Standard: Another matter that has greatly disappointed me is the double standard concerning the punctuality of services. We had booked the snowmobile tour six months in advance, with a stated start time of 10 am and a meeting time of 8:45 am. However, due to miscommunication, we waited at our room, once received the call we rush to the reception area arrived at the reception mere two minutes missed the bus. When we requested that the bus be called back, we were met with a firm refusal, stating that they strictly adhere to the scheduled departure times. However, I couldn't help but notice that when it came to the shuttle service, which was supposed to depart at 5:15 pm on Dec 26, the departure was delayed until 5:38 pm. This inconsistency in their approach, coupled with the receptionists' tendency to argue with customers rather than offering a sincere apology, demonstrates a lack of professionalism.||4. Lack of Attention to Detail: I would like to highlight a specific incident that exemplifies the lack of attention to detail at the resort. When the bus left without us, the receptionist called a cab for us. Unfortunately, the taxi driver dropped us off at Lapland Safari instead of Safartica. This miscommunication caused us great frustration and inconvenience, as we had to walk back to Safartica.||5. Overall Resort Experience: Finally, I must express my disappointment with the overall experience at Vaatunki Wilderness Resort. The term "resort" implies a certain level of service and professionalism that I did not witness during my stay. The staff members require better training, and the management should prioritize customer satisfaction over financial gains. In my opinion, the resort can be best described as a basic cabin-like hostel rather than a...

Vaattunki Wilderness Resort was Stunning...better than we had hoped for & made our trip to Lapland, we're so so pleased we stayed here. |We stayed in a panoramic hut which was great fun & very different. It was warm inside but not too warm. The floor to ceiling window overlooking the snow topped trees was breathtaking, we just sat & looked at it, it was so beautiful it didn't seem real.|The grounds were unbelievable, long walks a stunning bridge over a half frozen river, lots of different trails to walk through, it's part of the Arctic hiking trails so lots to explore. It was so so quiet which is exactly what we wanted. We couldn't hear anyone in the other huts even although they are fairly close together. |We read reviews about the restaurant before going which weren't too good however we ate there one night, it's a buffet style service & it was delicious....one of the most tasty meals i'd had in a long time...I'm still thinking about it it was so good!|The hut was very clean apart from the bed, there were lots of hairs on the mattress which you could see through the bottom sheet so I removed them all & re-made the bed. A detail the cleaner could be made aware maybe as the rest of it was very clean.|The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the lack of interest from the reception staff. We checked in late so knew we would pick up keys & let ourselves in but when we went for breakfast (which is also very good by the way) the reception staff almost ignored us. It wasn't until we were checking out that we saw all the brochures for all the activities with Safartica some of which we would have booked if we had known...it would be good if this was left in each hut. A shame the reception weren't very welcoming. The Safartica staff were very keen & helpful when we wanted to use the ski's.|It would be nice to not blast dance music at 7am at breakfast....most people go to this kind of place far away from everything to have some peace & quiet. It seemed to be more for the kitchen staff than the guests but it ruined our breakfast a bit & we rushed eating to get away from the noise. |Great that we can use the ski's & snow shoes for free as well as sleighs.|Overall, the hut was amazing, the grounds/walks were amazing, the food was amazing and I'd definitely go back there & have already recommended...

This place is magical. Truly is absolutely beautifully breathtaking. Pictures and videos do not give it an ounce of justice. Me and my girlfriend went 18th of January 2024 and we came late because the plane was delayed by hours and the canteen was closed but the kind reception lady made us tea which was delicious. All the reception staff to the waitress was very very friendly, even though the English language wasn’t their native language, everyone spoke it perfectly. The cabin we stayed in (number 8) was very very nice, cosy and warm. The view from the window was just wow and the treks, lakes and bridges was amazing. We did a trek for 6hrs, everywhere was clear sign posted. We went to reception and got some fire starters and made a log fire that’s available in the resorts trek area (which was huge and stunning) In all, I loved every second at this place. The people working at the resort was superb and it offers lots of photographic beautiful scenery. We are so glad we chose this resort over the hotel we were considering in the Rovaniemi centre. Highly recommend and a huge thanks to everyone who made us feel welcomed and at home. Kindest regards from Nina and Adam

Pros: Amazing location, the cabins are very new and comfortable, quiet, in the middle of the forest. There are huge chances of seeing aurora in the parking in front of the location, where there is not much light, but we could see it even from the room, on a very cloudy day. Friendly staff. As described in the photos. Would definitely come back. As long as you rent a car, 100% stay here rather than in the city center. Cons: Breakfast could be improved, cold food mostly. Wifi not working in the cabin, this should definitely be improved.

Had a wonderful experience! Anni was amazing at helping me schedule and organize the perfect trip. Dominic was one of our tour guides. He was amazing, we had so much fun with him. Tony was another one of our guides and he was very knowledgeable! The staff was so friendly. The cabin was very cozy, with a floor length window letting you see the gorgeous sights of the camp. Definitely recommend the ice breaker cruise, it's an incredible once in a lifetime experience!
