We visited and stayed in one of the cabins in late March which is after the main Finnish winter holiday break period, so it was quiet - on one night we were the only guests in both the hotel and cabins, but this is what we expected at this time of year. The cabins are beautiful, warm and look out over a great views of the snowy hills as the whole resort is actually on a hill itself. The staff fell over themselves to make us welcome, firing up the sauna in an empty hotel for us, opening the kitchen to feed us when they were closed, organising cross country skiing equipment rental and much more. The town of Ylitornio itself (1 hour walk or 10 min drive) is very small and there wasn't a lot open or happening but there are supermarkets, an Alko (off-license), a few other shops, and a hotel/pub and a pizza place. Also very cheap considering that cleaning of the cottage was included! The staff was friendly and helpful.
