The place is good. The distance from Levi is not a big deal if you’re traveling by car. The owner seemed pretty friendly until she noticed we were a same sex couple. ||Unfortunately we had issues with the heater. It wasn’t working the second night. It was in the middle of the night so, in my failed intend to avoid bothering the owner, I lighted up a candle that was in the middle of the table next to a lighter and found out it was a little bit old and wouldn’t work, so my second attempt was the chimney. I really did my best to keep everything clean, without a trace of ash and even washed my hands at least every 10 minutes. At the end everything was okay. ||The third morning before breakfast, we had no energy and there was no problem. We patiently waited until 2 hours later to get the energy back. ||I always do my best to keep everything clean and done before leaving. I even asked the owner about taking out the garbage. But soon after we left, I received a long complain from the owner saying I tried to burn her cabin by lighting up a battery candle (who would even know?), that I left everything worthless and all the walls dirty. I’ve never ever read something that horrible as a review. ||Immediately after I contacted her to kindly say sorry, and that I didn’t even notice the “damage” she wrote. I also begged her to send an invoice with the damages to do something about it. She didn’t. ||At this point I just feel I had to take pictures of every corner of the cabin before I left but most of all, I can’t stop thinking about how the first impression could have changed everything about my stay. ||Anyway, it’s sad to remember such a beautiful trip with that unfortunate experience. A huge lesson about not leaving without evidence of every...
Read moreI stayed two nights in "Takkatupa", which was beautiful, spotless and equipped to perfection! The spacious apartment is an open space consisting of sleeping area with comfy bed with fireplace right next to bed, fully equipped kitchen with dining table for 4, spacious double shower and a toilet. Everything seemed brand new!||||During my stay i tried the sauna, which is for sure the biggest one i've ever been to, with a monsterous stove, that i heard takes nearly 10 hours to heat up! Absolutely something to try!!||||First night i was lucky to see the northern lights just in front of the cottage (see the photo) it was absolutely magical! ||||All in all, it is a perfect place to feel the real wild lapland away from the hustle of the levi resort nearby! Took about 20min to reach the cottage from the airport. ||||My main goal during my trip was to snap some good photos, and i couldnt have chosen better! The host couple Anette and Matti were extremely helpful and gave me a lot of information about the place and surroundings!||||Definitely the place to stay in...
