hotel Kittilä — Hotel in Tunturi-Lapin seutukunta

Room rather basic, hotel (apart from the bar and reception) in a desperate need of refurbishment/ redecoration. Breakfast good (apart from stale bread) but tables/ floor not cleaned for days (we stayed for three days and same crumbs of food underneath our table stayed there with us. Not cool). There is no room service either - bins were not emptied even once in three days. Hotel closes at 9pm every night and they literally lock the main door and until 6am next day there is no staff on site. As for sauna, it opens daily from 6 till 9pm. On Sat though we went down at 08:30pm to find it locked (we had to ask to have it opened and you could tell that they young fellow was not happy). And here we get to the biggest issue with the hotel - its staff. Extremely unfriendly, bored and looking like they were doing you a favour when answering a question (the only exception is a lovely blond lady who was working last Sat 05/04). The other brunette was extremely unwelcoming all way long. Even on the very last morning when we checked out, she simply grabbed the key and turned away. No thank you, hope you enjoyed your stay, have a nice journey. Nothing that you would expect from ANY hotel/ hostel/ supermarket cashier or a bus driver. And frankly, she is probably the main reason why we will never go back to this hotel and certainly do...

Reception closed at 1pm (yes 13:00 before sun goes down!). We had to do self check in which is just take the key from a safebox outside. They said reception will be opened in the morning but at the end i still do not see anyone when i check out at 10am.

When i booked the room it said there is hairdryer in the room but we could not find one. I tried calling the staff and she told us to go to the sauna and find one but there is also no hairdryer. We were lucky to bump into a very kind woman who is staying next to us and lent us hers so we can wash our hair at night.

Would not recommend staying in this hotel, and you could definitely get something better...
