I LOVED LOVED LOVED my stay here. Came for 4 days in December for one of their travel packages that they offer (Taste of Lapland) and stayed in a little cabin that had its own sauna attached. The program included snowmobiling, an afternoon at Arctic Sauna World (including dips in the frozen lake to cool down for those who dared), a short husky safari, a visit to a reindeer farm, and hunting for the aurora on snowshoes at night. I stayed in Lapland for another 6 days and traveled around by myself by car, but honestly, I enjoyed my stay at Jeris more than I did the solo road trip. It was a great way to get a taste of different winter activities, and there was so much stunning nature around that I wanted to be outside all the time. It was also very convenient to have all outdoor equipment provided.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing – a highlight was the Christmas dinner during my last night there.
There was also a LOT of families with children there (who I think had booked another travel package that took place around the same time). Some activities overlapped with the ones I was doing; some were separate and especially tailored towards children (e.g. meeting Santa☺️). From what I could tell, the kids all seemed to be having the best time, and the hotel was just overall very child-friendly. They had toboggans (and I think tyres?) that they rented out, for example, so the children were busy going down the track that led down to the lake all day long!
The program also wasn’t too full that there was no time to just unwind and relax, which I really appreciated. There were options to book other activities for an afternoon or evening with nothing planned, but I personally really enjoyed just going for a walk on the frozen lake or reading in my cozy cabin.
Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. I was honestly so sad to leave on my last day and am already thinking about coming back, maybe during spring...
Read moreThis hotel is simply brilliant. It has no airs or graces cos it does need anything. The jerisranta cabins are lovely and plenty of room with a changing entrance clothes dryer lounge / kitchet. You even have your own little sauna. The facilities at the hotel are just what you need unless you want down hill skiing. Snowshoes to cross country skiing to snowmobiles. We came with Regency travel and bought a ultimate Lapland experience which had everything we wanted. The hotel is full board and the food is lovely and plentiful. All the staff are lovely and friendly nothing is too much. |I would defiantly recommend it no questions. If you are looking for night life and parties maybe go else where. If you are looking for price and quite and a real slice of Finland this is the place. At night you can venture out on to the lake and hope to see the north lights.||The thermal clothes they give you are excellent quality and really do the job over your own warm clothes. ( boots, all in one, socks and balaclava, mittens with wool liners). They also do a good line in real ales.|Negatives really only that drink is pricey, but that is Finland all over, we brought some with us to have in the cabin and no real lounge area in the hotel but there is a bar and you can us the restaurant area which over looks the lake. ||Also recommend you use the sauna world which is in the hotel grounds great place to watch the sunsets, get a massage and enjoy the 4...
Read moreA wonderful experience with friendly staff, comfortable cosy cabins and everything you need for a Lapland adventure. We went with kids via transun for a ‘Santa experience’ and the hotel, its guides, its programme of experiences were exceptional. Mushing your own dog sled, snowmobiling (for hours) across frozen lakes and countryside or searching for Santa with elves through a magical forest. All amazing. We have done a Lapland trip with kids when younger to Levi some years back which was great but for slightly older kids ( mine 7,13) this trip was a little more adventurous and a lot more magical. The hotel guides who lead the excursions were exceptional ensuring your safety, comfort and especially enjoyment. The food was good although choice at times were limited - however amazing what kids eat when hungry after a day outside in snow. The bar was great and not prohibitively expensive apart from soft drinks but hotel does a drink package for kids which we didn’t know about till to late. The cabins are functional and cute, own sauna and fire and kitchen area. They can be about a 10 min walk away which was pleasant in morning going for breakfast and they have a minibus to take you back at the end of the day. Overall highly recommended for those looking for a little more adventure and magic on their...
