Driving is not allowed between 23 and 7 (if I remember correctly)
The facilities are showing age. But in ok condition.
The caravan places have 3 different levels. But it is hard to climb to highest level due to steep gravel road. I have seen many try and fail.
There is much dust flying around due to gravel road. Actually, the whole place is just a big gravel surface. Not to mention, some of the caravan places are very uneven. Although there is good lake view if you can find a good spot.
There are a lot of little cottages with different shapes and sizes in the caravan area. I am not sure what they are about but they just seem to occupy space and make the place look like a ghetto.
There food was good but do not buy anything with reindeer in it. You will not find it. I ordered a pizza with reindeer and I am not sure if it had any meat in it.
I think the caravan price was too high. Considering the uneven surfaces and gravel all around the place and mediocre facilities. Most cheaper places have nice grass lawn...
Read moreCertainly wins the title of Finlands most spectacular campsite location. Right beneath Saana with views across the lake to Norways snow topped mountains the area is breathtakingly lovely. The breakfast buffet is amazing and I can totally recommend the restaurants burgers. I do feel, however, that given its the only place for miles, that they could improve the camping area. We stayed in a tent, and it was impossible to find a flat tent place. The 3 designated tent areas are just mountain birch forests. The ground has not been levelled in any way and there are large rocks dotted all over making it very hard to find a suitable place. Our first night I didn't close my eyes the whole night as we'd had no choice but to pitch on a hill and I spent a very uncomfortable night sliding down in my seeping bag and off the end of my inflatable mattress. The shower facilities are also in need of renovation. Although reasonably clean, they're a bit dilapidated looking and could do with...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend stayed for one night on our way from Helsinki to Norway (roadtrip).||There wasn't much choices and we thought this was the best option of all (we read previous reviews on tripadvisor). The staff was friendly and I loved the main building..it was cozy inside.||We had a room with two beds. The room was tiny but cozy. We had all we needed; hairdryer, beds, shower, toilet. The room was so small that we couldn't fit two open big suitcases...we had to have one open at a time (my advise: just take a small bag with the necessary things you need and leave the rest in your car).||We ate at their restaurant; reindeer sausage and potato salad with home made mustard. It was excellent!||We also had breakfast included, we got coupons and the next morning we got to go to the restaurant to a buffee.||All in all..good hotel for at least one night. Don't know about the cabins..but the hotel room was a good option for...
