The inn yurt — Hotel in Tunturi-Lapin seutukunta

I spend my life staying in the world’s finest luxury hotels and when I come to Sirkka this is where I stay.

The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the Wi-Fi usually works very well.

If you book direct through their website, the prices are also extremely reasonable.

When I was there, the owner Paula was travelling in London and I found her really responsive to any requests I had.

But THE most important reason to come to this place is someone called Timo who welcomes you, introduces you to the room and the place.

Timo is a fascinating and pleasant guy who is generous with his knowledge and insights about Finland and Lapland more specifically.

If you have time, ask him about the history of the place, you are sure to learn a lot.

Are there any down sides to staying here? Well Sirkka is a little drive away but that’s no big deal if you have a car. And yes the shower rooms are shared but I’ve always found them clean and well-maintained.

Beautiful Nordic-style rooms. I especially liked the woolen tapestry used as a wall decoration. You can also self-check in if the host is not around—just walk in and you'll find the information along with the host's phone number.

The host, Timo, was chatty and knowledgeable. It's a pet-friendly place, but it's advised to keep your pets on a leash, just like host Timo does with his very cool retired sled dogs.

The nearest shop is in Levi. We had a very nice evening reading by the lake, going to the sauna, and swimming.

A good tip for a successful night's sleep on holiday: bring earplugs and a sleeping mask.

We were the only guests there during summer, so we don’t know how soundproof the walls are. However, the rooms were dark enough with curtains and blinds, and had a very nice view of pine trees.

Perfect place to stay in Levi - great value for money!

Perfect score for the well-equipped kitchen, clean well-organized room (there were even a TV and a medium-sized fridge in my room), cozy fireplace, and free public sauna session!

Its perfect location goes without saying - this guesthouse is located just next to a big lake, which is a perfect spot for aurora hunting, ice fishing, winter hiking, and what not. Just bear in mind that it would be better to get here by car, parking lot is spacious and free anyway.

During my stay I also got the opportunity to meet other guests who are aurora hunters and local guides, hence I got a glimpse of local life and tips for affordable experiences like snowmobiling, ice fishing, etc.
