Crayfish Manor — Hotel in Upper Savonia

Amazing villa in the middle of Finnish wilderness and still only 30 minutes by bicycle to Mänttä and the Serlachius Museums. Beats sleeping in the town! If you are after more than the accomodation and breakfast, I think you can order pretty much any extra service you want from dinner and boatride to smoke sauna. My top tip is to try and get a room from the top floor, the ground floor might be a little noisy for light sleepers. Nice little piers for taking a dip in the lake or arriving by boat....

Stayed with wife and baby as part of an extended family event where we booked out the entire hotel. A very enthusiastic and friendly owner and gorgeous Finnish lakeside. I was quietly impressed given this place is effectively in the middle of nowhere and quite far from any of the major cities. Our suite was also very large, could comfortably accomodate a family of 4 (one super-king bed and two singles on the mezzanine), with balcony, sauna...
