Koljonvirta Holiday Cottages — Hotel in Upper Savonia

I came here because all hotels were sold out. Thought that I book a room in B&B type of guesthouse. At least the price indicated it (almost same price as in Iisalmi). In the end this is like hostel. You get sheets and a towel (NOT TOWELS) and you need to make your own bed. In toilet/shower which is common for several rooms there were no soap and nothing to dry your hands. First night there was loud group outside until midnight. Next night karaoke in the first floor until 23.30 and then next hour moving stuff out from the karaoke. Nice, isn't it. Not to say that I booked for 3 nights already 1.5 months in advance and then they cancelled the 3rd night just before my arrival. Avoid this...

A quiet place if nothing going on in the bar/restaurant downstairs (karaoke). You are given a set of bed linen to make your own bed. The bed linen was stained and ragged. Duvets and pillows very dirty, couldn't be used at all. The toilet seat was leaking. There is no air conditioning in the room which made it very hot and humid. No mosquito net...

I did not stay over night but we did eat and swim in the lake. Naturally this is not the michelin but this is typical Finnish summer food. Its tasty and very rich in flavours.
