Sadly my trip was a bit last minute so there were no middle floor rooms left and I had to stay in the top floor. When you take the steps up you can see the transition from a hotel to a hostel. The middle floor is manor-like and pompous. The top floor is like any early 90's hostel with vinyl floors and furniture collected from here and there. I know that the top floor is cheaper, but do they have to rub it in like that? The room is cozy and pretty cute, but the window is so high that I could not see outside. The bathroom is in the corridor, but thankfully plentiful so I didn't have to wait. The bed is a bit on the soft side but there's a thick memory foam top mattress that reminded me of home. I couldn't hear any sound from the other rooms so that was nice. The breakfast was also good. Overall I'd say that the place was okay and served it's purpose. The Art Center Pekilo is just a short walk from the hotel. This was my second visit to Mänttä and next time I will book yet another hotel. I'm sure I'll find the best...
Read moreOvernighted in Mäntän klubi during business trip. The hotel is excellent, something really special and yes, I definitely will be back! I believe it was build as a some kind of recreation hall for the workers of the paper factory in Mänttä. And that was a long ago. But the building is full of history and it´s really well refurbished.||||Although the peak season for this place is definitely during summer, I still was surprised to find out, that I was the only person in the whole building that night. I was advised by the owner to get in by using certain code and key for the room were waiting for me in the reception. ||||I reserved a room with not en-suite toilet, but the shower and toilet were close to my room. Room itself was clean and I loved the atmosphere of the old building.||||Even though I was the only customer that night, I was served a very tasty breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room by the cook who also took care of my check-out.||||I really loved the place and I´m sure you would...
Read moreWe stayed in Mäntän Klubi when visiting A Visual Protest by Banksy. I knew by booking that the bathrooms were not en-suite so that was not a surprise. What was a surprise was the lack of personnel in high season - had to go to kitchen and ask for personnel when checking in. The house is magnificient and it is really pity that especially the top floor is not renovated to align with the spirit of the house. As someone said, top floor is like a hostel from 90’, and it really flattens the experience.|We ate the dinner in Mäntän Klubi restaurant. The food was excellent, the portions were beautiful and the service was frienly and nice. My points go to that dinner.|Our room was so hot that my friend couldn’t sleep. Breakfast was modest.. wonder why Finnish hotels aren’t serving fresh strawberries in...
