Merenkurkun Majatalo is located in the remote Björköby village in Kvarken area. The B&B is located is few old buildings which has been somewhat renovated but with no understanding how to renovate. The overall atmosphere is shabby. Since they do not have online reservation system (but a tiny booklet), they prefer reservations to be made by phone. Emails are not preferred, because they cause work. I had made the reservation by phone, but received no confirmation. As we arrived 3 weeks after reservation was made, I was told that they had made the reservations for the next day and only one of the reserved rooms would be available. This cause continuous attack of mosquitos. We ended up fighting with the mosquitos all night and sleeping with our clothes on since we could not trust that any of the surfaces would be clean. Although the breakfast was included in the room rate, we decided not to have that since we had no trust that the hygiene would be any better with the food preparation. At the end they charged us only for one room (instead of 2), but even that was too much. Thus strongly NOT...

The breakfast was plentiful but for my taste it started little bit too late, at 9am. ||The owner was very nice and helpful. I'd stay again. The Björkby is near by as well as the Salteriet cafe&restaurant, Saltkaret obseration tower and Bodvattnet runt. ||I'm torn with average and very good but perhaps it's...
