Most importantly: Bring your own bed linen and towels people!! The available ones reek of mold. There is a Tokmanni 5 min away if you forgot.

This place has very varying levels of standard on their cottages. If you are only 1 or 2 people definitely go with the small black trailer cottages with the skylights. They have fully functioning kitchens (except freezer), sauna and comfy beds.

Cleanliness had unfortunately been neglected though. The hallway rug smelled like urine, the oven floor has burnt grease (luckily there is a fan), sauna has been used by people who don’t shower before sauna (you’ll smell it when humidity is higher), the vacuum cleaner was overstuffed with dust and gravel and the whole place needed a good wiping down from grime and dust before moving in. Good thing cleaning supplies were available.

We also had 3 of their timber cottages and they are a sad sad story. The mattresses were smelly thin foam pads. Judging from the big pits (!) in the middle of them they haven’t been updated for at least 20 years. The kitchen has no fan and no oven.

It really is a missed potential that they haven’t given these cottages more love. The bones are good and it wouldn’t take much, money nor time, to level up the attractiveness.

We had a long road still to drive and it was getting dark. This was in the end of September, so we decided to spend the night here and go on driving in the morning. We just called to the Mansikkaharju Holiday Camp center and asked the cheapest option which was a tiny cottage (27€ on low-season) with two bunk beds,a table, a chair and a heater. Just enough to serve the purpose. We had our own sheets so we saved 5 €. The manager is helpful and easy to reach. The reception closes at 7 pm, but you can get the key also later easily.||||There is grocery store nearby called Lidl where we went to buy some food for the evening and for the morning. The showers and toilets are in the other building. This was good stay for our purpose. Nothing to complain except the pillows might be in the need of update. However, it was good sleep in the warm and dry reasonably priced cottage. You can drive the car next to your cottage. The traffic sounds from the highway 5 didn't bother us but a light sleeper might want to...

Varasin hyvissä ajoin maanalaisen mökin (4viikkoa ennen majoitus ajankohtaa) soittamalla suoraan majoituspaikkaan. Majoituspäivänä matkasimme kahden pienen lapsen kanssa useita tunteja kohteeseen, jossa meitä odottikin 8m² pienempi, yli 10€ halvempi kahden hengen pieni mökki. (Booking.com sivuilta saadut tiedot). Respassa, sisäänkirjautuessa ei tästä mainittu mitään. Laskutettiin kalliimman mökin hinta, mökin jonka olin varannut aikaisemmin. Mökin nähtyämme huomasimme että mökki on aivan eri, mitä olimme varanneet. Soitin respaan, jossa mies henkilö joka mökin oli meille antanut vastasi, että on antanut meille kalliimman, isomman ja paremman mökin. Neuvoi kantamaan ruokailuryhmän ulos, jotta mahtuisimme nelihenkisenä perheenä mökissä majoittumaan. Vakuutteli, että mökki tosiaan on paljon parempi ja isompi, mitä varaamani mökki olisi.

Koska mökki näytti selkeästi pienemmältä, mitä taas varaamani mökki kuvissa näytti, tarkistin puhelun jälkeen asian nettisivuilta. Meille annettu mökki tosiaan oli 8m² pienempi ja paljon halvempi, kuin varaamani. Silti sisäänkirjautuessa laskutettiin kalliimman hinnalla. Eikä tosiaan edes mainittu, että mökki on vaihtunut. Missään vaiheessa ei pahoiteltu, sen sijaan valehdeltiin vain.

Pyysimme rahat takaisin ja lähdimme jo valmiiksi väsyneiden pienten lasten kanssa takaisin tien päälle. Uuden yöpymispaikan etsinnöissä meni yli 2h, ajomatka uuteen majapaikkaan oli 1h45min ja tästä koitui meille yli 300€ lisäkustannuksia.
