Pihlas Resort — Hotel in Varkaus sub-region

We had a wonderful stay at this resort! The location is absolutely stunning – our villa was right on the lakeside, close to the sauna, which made the experience even more special. We loved the quietness and the beauty of nature, which allowed us to truly slow down, relax, and enjoy quality family time. The food was more than exceptional, and the team was very friendly, helpful and caring throughout our stay. We also made full use of the great facilities – canoeing on the lake, and in the sports hall we played basketball, tennis, badminton, and even padel. Everything we needed was there! If I had to mention one small point, the villa felt a bit compact for five people, and the bathrooms were also on the smaller side. We just had the best sleep of our lives at Philas resort. Our garden villa was chic and comfortable. The cuisine was top notch - using local in-season produce. The facilities - sauna, sports hall, gym, beauty treatments - were all superb. |We encountered no mosquitoes! Hurrah! The resort has a low key feel to it and never felt full or busy. Best of all, the staff were all super helpful and friendly with excellent attention to detail. ||All in all, Philas strikes a balance between chic design and back-to-nature wholesomeness. ||We traveled as a family of 3 at the end of July. The resort arranged transfers to and from the train station which makes it an easy trip from Helsinki. The food and facilities suited our teenager well but he has quite grown up tastes. The weekend trip to PihlasResort was really great. One of the few high-quality resort destinations in Finland, where you can indulge in pampering. A versatile selection of indoor and outdoor activities that are included in the price of the apartment. Restaurant Siimes is nicely shaped for both breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is no need to leave the resort during a staycation lasting a couple of nights. You can easily charge an electric car and it's a short walk to different places inside the Resort.
