I do wonder how sites are rated in France. This site would have collected 4 stars or more on UK ratings and yet in France it seems that it is only worthy of 3 stars. We were touring and were only going to stay for 2 days - We stayed for 7 days!||The site was clean and tidy and the "welcome" at Reception could not have been any better.||There is a shop and a Bar and also visiting Traders like a Pizza van, Fries etc in the main Season.||The pitch provided was big enough for a 7m long Motorhome, a car trailer and a Smart car with room left over to sprawl on sun loungers - Bliss!||The Swimming Pool has to be seen to be believed. It is truly magnificent and is fully under cover in a very well designed building. There is also a "Childrens" Pool which looks like it would be great fun. The main pool and Childrens Pools are surrounded by glass and even look inviting when the weather outside is grim. There is the usual rule about "no shorts" that always seems to annoy the Brits but it's there for good reason.||The site is 2kms from the centre of Le Crotoy and is an excellent base from which to visit places like Rue and Fort Mahon||There is a Fishing Lake which is "catch and release"; so keeping to eat the fish later!||There is a dedicated Dog Walk area that has waste bins. I just wish that more owners would clear up after their animals.||There is much to do in the area. Of special note is the Bird Reserve of La Marquenterre ( http://www.baiedesomme.fr/en/parc-du-marquenterre ). There are dog kennels for visitors to leave their dogs as no dogs are allowed into the Reserve.||We also noted that the houses and apartments in Le Crotoy were as expensive as Aldeburgh in the UK: €400k for a 2 bed Fishermans cottage?||||I must add that I have no connection to Camping Le Tarteron. Just a very satisfied customer who looks forward to visiting again in 2015||||Link to their website in French, English, Dutch and German...
Read moreA great campsite close to Le Crotoy and beaches about 1 mile. English spoken staff at reception who were efficient and helpful.|Pitches are large but a little tricky to get a long motorhome into because of large hedges on 3 sides plus narrow roadways.|Once positioned you have a pitch with its own electric point, water tap and drain. Electricity is only 6 amp which is a pain.|You have no views at all from your unit. Toilet blocks are adequate but a little dated. Hot water for washing up is non- existent. Toilet paper is provided but no soap for hand washing ☹️.|I've saved the best bit until last. 😃|The indoor swimming pool is superb.|It is large, spotlessly clean and the water temperature isn't too bad. Sun beds are provided around the pool and in the outdoor sunbathing area. Site in June is fairly quiet and providing you get a pitch at the rear of the site you won't hear the traffic from the...
Read moreCame here as it seemed better value than other sites we looked at for the facilities on offer and were not disappointed. |The mobile homes were clean and on spacious sites.|The bar and grocery store were not open as it was out of season and unusually quiet. But Le Crotoy with its range of shops was just a couple of miles away. |The covered pool area was clean and warm with 2 pools. One shallow and one normal. |There was a play area, a volleyball court and a tennis court as well as a small lake for fishing. |I would definitely recommend a visit to St Vallery and Le Touquet while...
