Auberge Acquella — Hotel in Ajaccio

Management made the decision to let rooms totally unfit for purpose and prioritized money (€150 for 2 rooms so not exactly cheap but not bankrupting either) over their reputation. I cannot tell if this plumbing issue was as a result of heavy rain the day before and/or a chronic issue. In any case they should not have let those rooms.||||To put it in perspective this is the first time I have felt strongly enough to post a negative comment in 30 years of travelling the globe.||||Specifics: night 17-18/9 Rooms 5 & 4 were invaded with REALLY STRONG TOXIC FUMES from septic tank coming into our bath/bedrooms - which they tried to cover up with perfume. Sadly not something you can take a picture of and/or measure on a toxic scale as evidence. It was late Sat night with 6am Sun flights out on Patrimoine weekend so no other alternative close enough to airport. If not for a weekend I would have made a formal complaint to Sanitary services. And of course no Management around on early Sunday am to make formal complaint.||||A real shame to finish our Corsican holiday on this bad note and hopefully in time we will retain the more...

Grosse déception. Nous avons réservé 2 chambres en direct par téléphone deux jours par avance. Arrivés sur place le soir à 19h. Pas de réservation à notre nom. Accueil froid. Finalement, le fils présent accepte de nous recevoir et les chambres nous sont préparées. En attendant, nous prenons un apéritif offert. Nous dînons sur place. Plats simples. Moyennement bons. Un peu cher vu cette petite qualité. Les fils se sont excusés de l'oubli de notre réservation. Nos chambres simples. Propreté relative. Poignée de porte branlente. Idem pour la cuvette WC. Pour le petit déjeuner, seul la "patronne "était présente. Accueil froid, un pain au chocolat très gras, un tout petit bout de baguette un peu de beurre et un peu de confiture. Un jus de fruits et un café. Pas moyen d'avoir un deuxième morceau de pain. Lorsque nous demandons un deuxième café. " ce n'est théoriquement pas compris. Mais je vous l'offre." Bref mis à part la superbe vue sur la vallée et Ajaccio. Endroit très inintéressant.. Juste pour information, suite à la réponse donnée par cet établissement. J'ai bien précisé que l'apéritif nous a été offert. 2 verres de bière et 2 panachés. Je pense que c'est la moindre des choses, pour nous faire patienter. J'ai également signalé dans mon commentaire que les deux "garçons " se sont excusés. L'erreur est humaine. Ok. Mais cela ne change rien à la qualité du petit déjeuner entre autre. This was the most fantastic place to spend a night and recover from a week of strenuous hiking before heading to the airport early the next morning (fairly convenient). The pool and jacuzzi (extra payment) area has a great view of distant Ajaccio and the mountains - don't miss the sunset! The welcome was warm and the restaurant had some exciting local specialties.
