Casa Maredda — Hotel in Ajaccio

This is a very nice b&b. Nice manager/owner. ||Excellent rooms but could use towel rack, shower hand rail and luggage rack. ||It would be of more value to me if we used the pool and warm jacuzzi.. Outdoor private suite lounge chairs were made useless by mosquitos. I would stay again but not in the suite.||||Now the two serious hiccups. ||Two credit cards would not authorize although they worked elsewhere just night before and the morning of the next day. A third card did work, thankfully. 680 Euros we did not have in cash. It’s beyond daily ATM limit for us. This room was reserved at booking.com using a credit card. The B and B should confirm validity or try charging the deposit on the day the free cancellation expires. ||||A confirmation response by e-mail would be nice to give a code to open the outer gate. We had to climb over a wall (!) to get someone’s attention to check us in. ||Less serious but constructive suggestion for management: The excellent quality breakfast could use some variation form the same old, same old, repeated for 3 days. Different cheese? Different meat? Egg option? Different bread? Same for the cocktail hour, some variation from onion pastry and...

The owner, Anthony, describes Casa Maredda as a 'home' rather than a 'hotel', and it is precisely that! Rooms are large and comfortable, the atmosphere convivial and relaxed and the overall feel one of calmness, cleanliness and care.||||Anthony did everything in his power to make us feel welcome: espressos on arrival, a glass of courtesy rose and charcuterie board in the evening and a delicious breakfast that includes home made yoghurt and pastries. My wife and I spent a little bit over a week at la casa Maredda and the experience was amazing. Antony made us feel like home in about 10 seconds when we arrived. He and his wife are incredibly nice and helpful. We’ve been to many B&B (over a dozen, including in Corsica) and this one was the best so far and by far. The room was great, amenities excellent, breakfast super, tips and tricks from the hosts were very useful too. I would recommend this B&B with no hesitation and I hope we will come...
