The staff were absolutely brilliant. Very friendly and helpful. Food also great (buffet dinner only each night we were there, but perfect for us with a baby and really good buffet with lots of variety each night) and hotel nice and clean.
Also possible to get to easily by train from Paris (the reason we went for arcs 1600, if you want to maximise skiing each day, all the other arcs better).
Beds were comfortable and big doubles with good pillows.
Hotel rooms very, very small. We were in the “suite”, the largest room in the hotel able to sleep 6, in theory. Three rooms, two with beds and one sofa bed. Very little space in the rooms around the bed. Only one toilet for a 6 person suite. Each of the bedrooms off the central living room with the sofa bed so wouldn’t be easy being 6 in the suite. Two “bathrooms” off each bedroom. One shower with sink and a door. The other a bath and sink open onto the second bedroom making it a steamy, damp bedroom. In the second bedroom, the bed is up against the wall with about one foot around the bottom and one side so very small room.
Also the ski locker the same size as every other one for the other rooms, so would struggle for 6 peoples skis and boots. Just about managed with 4 but that was tight.
Finally the soap is an all purpose soap, so if you need conditioner to prevent a matt of hair, take your own! (For the price of this hotel, surprised there wasn’t conditioner and basic moisturiser provided especially given altitude and need for moisturiser)
The spa looks lovely, wooden sauna and wooden hot tub outside and second sauna inside. However it was very very small for the hotel size so even in our low season visit the hot tub was always crammed full and rarely space in the outdoor sauna. The “gym” is two bikes but then who needs that when in the mountains!
Overall value for money, doesn’t feel silly expensive but also doesn’t feel great especially given the size of the rooms, but then French ski resort architecture means most hotels have very...
