We stayed in the ground floor apartment, with kitchen, as we planned to make our own breakfast to accommodate my husband's photography during early morning (best light). THEN WE HAD THE BREAKFAST SUPPLIED BY THE OWNERS and we were hooked -- This was the best breakfast, set in the most beautiful courtyard, we have ever had at a hotel or B&B. ||||We only made it out 2 times early morning to photograph and spent the other 5 mornings at the B&B so we could enjoy the homemade breakfast on the beautiful patio. I think the breakfast is included if you have a room, but not with the self catering cottage we were in. We paid extra for the breakfast and it was worth every penny!||||I've attached 4 photos of the beautiful breakfast area.||||French (Elizabeth - the amazing cook) and American (Kevin) owners so perfect English and French. Very helpful with suggestions as to where to go and what to see.||||Our Room/ Self catering Apartment: We loved having our own private patio with lounge chairs, a bistro table and chairs. Picked up a rotisserie chicken, and other food, on market day to to eat on our patio. The self catering apartment is spacious, well equipped with a straw bag for market days, convection/microwave oven, kettle, dishes ect. There is a large walk-in shower in the bathroom. ||||FYI : The ground floor apartment / self-catering cottage does not have daily maid service. I believe the rooms in the house do. ||||No air, but didn't need it during the very hot weather due to the thick stone walls (about 2 feet thick). Pulled the drapes when the sun was shining in the glass doors and it kept things nice and cool.||||This B and B is in an excellent location to explore the area. Our favorite 2 villages to day trip to were Roussillon (very close, lots of restaurants, unique and beautiful) and the tiny out of the way village called Saignon. Read moreMy husband and I spent our honeymoon here for 3 nights at the end of September and it was an absolutely perfect stay. As the other reviews mention, the breakfast is out of this world. It isn't some continental breakfast that you would expect out of a 'free' breakfast (with the ground rooms - i believe you pay extra for breakfast if you stay in a self-catering room with a kitchen) but feels like you are sitting in the kitchen of a French family waiting for an amazing breakfast from your parents Kevin and Elizabeth! (okay might be a bit of a weird reference but seriously, we asked them to adopt us). The first day was warm apple crepe, second day was scrambled eggs and truffle oil and our last day was the MOST DELICIOUS QUICHE we have ever had in our entire lives. Breakfast also usually includes fruits, freshly baked breads and assorted jams, coffee and some sort of juice. The area is also perfect - a 10-30 min drive to tons of hilltop towns, you can walk 20 mins to the town of st. saturin if you want to have dinner (although we only did this once and drove the rest of the time because the walk is through country roads, and it got really dark at night - but kevin provides a flashlight which was super helpful!) the grounds are immaculate, well-maintained. this place runs like a well-oiled machine! tons of guidebooks about provence that you can use too. WARNING - don't use googlemaps to get here. it had us driving through a field to get there, luckily we called kevin and he talked us through the correct way. i think googlemaps shows that there's a back road to get there when there isn't. JUST STAY...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at Le Mas Perreal for three days in June. First of all, the scenery can't be beat. Nestled in the middle of several vineyards with spectacular views in all directions, pictures can't do it justice. Kevin is an amazing host and concierge who knows the Luberon like the back of his hand - we recommend that you always take his advice. The nearby village of Saint Saturnin is picturesque, one of our favorite stops on our trip, and walking distance from Le Mas. Rooms are comfortable and climate-controlled (good air conditioning), and the property is covered in beautiful, colorful flowers. Finally, breakfast is an incredible treat. Kevin's fresh fruit pancakes are especially delicious, not to mention the fresh local bread and pastries. Sitting on the terrace on a sunny morning was one of the highlights of our trip. ||||In summary, here are some key notes on Le Mas Perreal:||1. Fantastic "bang for the buck"||2. Tremendous scenery||3. Central location in the Luberon||4. Multi-national, knowledgeable, and friendly hosts||5. Perfect place to relax (especially by the pool)||6. Best breakfast||||Some tips:||1. Even if you don't book a self-catering room, you will have access to kitchen basics (plates, cups, silverware, refrigerator).||2. Each room has its own semi-private patio.||3. DON'T MISS Saint Saturnin Les Apt (nearby village) - it's not a highly publicized destination, but the food and scenery are tops in the area.||4. Ask Kevin for recommendations and dinner...
