When you find somewhere special you hesitate about telling everyone about it in case it becomes so popular you cannot find a place next visit but that would be unfair to the energetic Magalie and Jean-Louis at La Pommeraie who deserve credit and recognition for creating a marvellous environment for their visitors. The warmth of their welcome and their sense of fun is reflected in every aspect of the campsite. Lets look at what the site has to offer. Firstly walk to the entrance and admire the panorama of the remarkable Cantal mountain range- this group of extinct volcanic peaks. You will not find a better view anywhere as you look down at the town of Vic Sur Cere and across the valley to the mountains opposite. ||The sanitary arrangements are excellent and of high quality, their design showing flair and imagination. These are the most colourful and attractive we have seen, for children and adults. The covered swimming pool is a good length and centrally situated; the outside areas have great features for children. The pitches are of regular size, separated by hedging. But staying here is not just a question of these excellent facilities, the real treasure is the charming and delightful Magalie and Jean-Louis who take a pride in every aspect of their site and are really involved in making it a success. We stayed in early June when sunshine and showers dominated. Jean-Louis is also a professional magician who performs shows locally and we were lucky to see his paper, rope and card magic at a Saturday evening performance at the site. How did he do it? He is funny, talented and an outstanding performer. His display is of high quality. We even appreciated his humour as he switched between French and English. A remarkable and enjoyable experience. We were reluctant to leave. As we were doing so we saw Jean-Louis, in his superman outfit, setting off to another magic show locally. Bravo! -Highly...

Read moreWhen we arrived we were made very welcome and we were told that if the pitch we requested (with shade) wasn't okay then they would try and accommodate. It was ideal. They were very informative about the local activities including numerous walks of different levels and because we had visited that area to see the Tour de France, they gave us different options with regards to best view points along the route in that area. Unfortunately my wife had a cycle accident and was admitted to the local hospital but the hosts could not have been more supportive and flexible with regards to our plans. |All in all, this campsite has a family centered approach and is very popular. Ask the people who moved into our pitch (it's their 11th year of visiting)!!|Highly recommended location, facilities, entertainment (check out the Father/Son combo) and local wines/beers.|Would definitely...
