The people who run the place are very helpful and friendly, there are some great pitches right by the river with EHU BUT: no soap in toilets - how on earth do people wash their hands - I’ll tell you - they don’t! I witnessed a few people just walking out after using the toilets and the worst thing of all, it’s all unisex - showers, toilets sinks etc. I won’t be returning any time soon. You can walk into the town where there are a handful of places to get food - if they’re open! Also the owners do their best to keep the place clean but no soap - sorry I can’t accept that! We drove to the camping, paid the descent to the friendly and helpful owners, got the paddles, lifejackets and other equipment and were soon sitting in their rental kayaks ready to go. Most of the pitches are well shaded( though no where to hang a hammock). The river is BOILING as in areas are as hot as a bath!
Reason for 4stars rather than 5 is the fact that it's advertised as a canoeing camp site and friends that have been coming here for 14 years say they can only remember once when the river was deep enough to canoe.
