Première Classe Avallon — Hotel in Avallon

We have found hotels in this chain to be good places when we are travelling through and just need a place to sleep. This one is quite adequate, but the bathroom gave us some problems. There was no bathmat, which is an essential with the type of shower in these hotels, and only two small towels. Also the shower head did not work well. We found only 1 electrical outlet which is not enouigh to charge all the electronics most people travel with. There is no WiFi in this hotel, but the receptionist suggested we ask at their "sister hotel" across the parking lot. We were given a code there that we could use in the public areas of their hotel. Also a decent restaurant at that hotel and the Premiere Classe guests are given a discount. On the plus side, the hotel is clean, the breakfast is the usual which is quite good, and the hotel is located in the countryside. The photo in tripadvisor is not the premiere classe, its the reception of the campanile which is the sister hotel to the premiere class. The rooms are very small and many have a strange structure over the bed as if for a single bed but who knows. What we do know is that they warn you about bumping your head. The rooms felt very old and really needed a refresh and it wasnt a patch on the same hotel chain that we stayed in Reims on our route down through France. The ensuite was miniscule with a shower but there was no room to move. You could eat in the campanile on same site but that was very disappointing. Not a decent meal after a long journey. Aspetto esteriore dell'intera struttura fatiscente. Stanza doppia microscopica, spazio tra il letto ed il muro meno di una spanna, l'unico modo per raggiungere il bagno è strisciare contro il muro. Pavimento in plastica, sporco e con qualche insetto morto. Materasso (vedi fotografia) in gommapiuma lurida che perde letteralmente i pezzi, coperto da una tela cerata anch'essa a pezzi. Il letto è matrimoniale, ma la coperta, un plaid, è singolo, e copre solo metà letto. Copriletto disgustoso, sporco e macchiato. Televisore di buon livello, un'inutile chicca visto che manca il minimo indispensabile. C'è anche un terzo letto, tipo castello ma più basso. In 3 però la stanza sarebbe davvero invivibile, visto che già in 2 lo spazio è minimo. Inoltre ci sono 2 climatizzatori, entrambi a terra, che sottraggono ulteriore spazio. Pareti sottilissime, e siccome le stanze affacciano direttamente sull'esterno (un lungo balcone), quando altri ospiti passano davanti alla stanza sembra siano dentro la stanza, ed il rumore della strada che passa dietro la struttura è fastidioso anche a finestre chiuse. Bagno anch'esso microscopico, doccia con tenda, appena si apre l'acqua si allaga l'intero locale. Asciugamano che casca a pezzi, tutto sfilacciato, un vero straccio, ed un ridicolo cartello che avvisa che a chi dovesse sottrarlo verrà addebitato. Rubinetto incrostato di dentifricio. Aspetti positivi: lenzuola pulite, riscaldamento buono, soprattutto la colazione, perchè viene servita nel vicino hotel Campanile (che si occupa anche della reception) e ne rispetta gli standard: brioches ancora calde di diversi tipi, pancakes freschi, pane fresco, marmellata, miele, burro. Succhi di frutta industriali, bevande calde. Conclusione: è un hotel economico, ma non offre il minimo indispensabile per qualsiasi hotel. Sceglietelo per una notte se non avete davvero...
