Camping La Baie du Mont Saint Michel — Hotel in Avranches

Liked: On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by the staff who explained everything clearly. The location of this campsite site is great for visiting the UNESCO Mont St Michel attraction. The campsite was quiet, tidy and clean. There is a lovely play area with a volleyball/badminton net, climbing frame and ping pong table. The pitches are very regulated, all divided with a hedge and spacing is very clear. The wash facilities, toilets and showers were very nice and always clean and always had hot water. There is a lovely shop with bread and croissants available to order for breakfast each day, along with other essentials. We really enjoyed the small snack bar also, which is located just across the road from the campsite and sells cider, beer, crêpes, delicious sandwiches and frites. We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely area.

Disliked: The pitches are very exposed and on really hot days we didn't have any shade, so if you have the option of an awning you may need to...

Liked: Wonderful modern facilities, probably the best of any campsite we've stayed at. Also very clean. The pitches are also nice and flat - didn't have to level which was nice.

Owners were very friendly and spoke good English. Campsite was nice and quiet with a relaxed atmosphere - I think only 40 pitches maybe? Everyone staying at the site was very friendly.

Fresh baguette and croissants in the morning were fantastic and there was a lady selling locally made jams on one day we stayed. Perfect location for exploring around Le Mont Saint Michel.

Liked: What a lovely campsite! No airs and graces or trying to be too fancy, just good value, brilliant location for Mont S Michel, Avranches and district, nice pitch, very clean toilets and showers with plenty of hot water. Check in was a delight with the French owner - what a happy cheerful and friendly man! He really got our stay off to a good start. Such amazing fellow campers - Belgians, Italians and French people all good company. The owner rode his bike around the whole campsite every two hours or so checking that everything was ok. 10 minutes to a big Carrefour, 15 mins to MS Michel so very convenient. There is much more we want to see here, and this is where we will stay, for sure! ...
