We've been in Gite du Montitier twice, first me and my husband in 2011, then we came back with my parents-in-law in 2012.||The first time we got here by chance, we didnd't have any previous reference, we just searched on internet for a B&B not far from MSM and we found this place. It's a B&B with UK hosts (Jackie and her husband) so if you speak only English but none French then it's a big advantage, there are only 2 rooms, each with private bathroom facilities, very clean and comfortable, a place where you can have a good rest at night, a generous continenal breakfast at morning and drink a nigh cap after having spent the whole day around Normandy. It's bucolic, clean, calm, simple and comfortable but we've enjoyed it so much that we decided to take there my parents in law for a short trip in Normandy. I need to say this: my mother in law is a touchy person (almost every mother in law is it, right?) and she felt in love with this little place: the sourrondings, the wonderful host -Jackie- the views from the window to MSM at night, the resident dog, the sheeps passing by in the morning etc etc. We could rent the whole B&B (ie the 2 rooms) for the 4 of us for a long weekend and it was just perfect, since the B&B has only 2 rooms we had the living room and kitchen area just for us and it was lovely, we arrived late every day after having spent the whole day around, we opened a bottle of wine and enjoy ourselves in the living room area around a night cap discussing the highlights of the day. It's been 2 years so far and my mother in law is still nosgaltic about this trip. ||If you are looking for a simple but clean and comfortable accomodation in Normandy to visit MSM this is just the right place. The 2 rooms have 1 king size bedroom and one single bedroom where you could accomodate a child.|||| ||||ecided to come back with my parents in law, it was...
Read moreSpent one picturesque evening at this charming B&B while touring the Mt St Michel area. The location is extremely convenient, a short 5 minute car ride to the shuttle parking area (probably too far to walk). We checked in to the B&B, then drove over to catch the shuttle, enjoyed watching the tide bore in, dinner on MSM, and sunset the first night of arrival. We climbed up to tour the abbey first thing the next morning. It was lovely witnessing both an evening and a morning on MSM.||Rooms lock individually. We were 2 in a room designed to hold 4 ... With a full and two twin beds it would be a great room for parents and 2 kids. The bathroom for our room had both a large soaking tub and a separate shower. Breakfast was basic but filling. Jackie even had a Coke Zero for my husband who doesn't drink coffee. We enjoyed watching the cows walk by on their way home from pasture. The rooster crow was a lovely wake up.||One warning, if you have allergies if may make for a stuffy night ......
Read moreJacqueline and James were wonderful hosts and have a lovely home. Our room was upstairs overlooking the front of the house and very clean. Room had one queen sized bed and two singles (room for 4). Very close to Mont St. Michel (beautifully lite at night) and a couple of villages with Cafe's and Restaurants. Breakfasts were good and fulfilling, with a selection of fresh croissants, baguettes, toast, cheeses, meat, fruit, coffee or tea. Both Jacqueline and James helped us when we needed help contacting Hertz Car Rental because of a flat tire. Of course, the highlight of our stay was watching them halt traffic on the road so their neighbor's sheep could return from grazing on the salt marshes. Very peaceful and relaxing...
