Maison du Murphy — Hotel in Avranches

We stayed in the lovely annex of Maison du Murphy for 4 nights. The annex is really pretty situated next to the main house which is surrounded by beautiful greenery and a little pond just outside. The annex itself had everything we required - comfortable double bed downstairs, coffee machine, table, chairs, cups, cutlery, TV and upstairs there are are two comfortable single beds and a bathroom with shower - the whole place was very clean. Shaun and Elaine the hosts are very friendly and made us feel at home and helped us with any query. They also have a lovely dig Gibson who is extremely playful and friendly. Just returned from 3 night stay in Normandy. Had the good fortune to stay at the excellent Maison du Murphy, near Sourdeval. Owned by Elaine and Shaun, a charming couple, so helpful and knowledgable. Delightful surroundings, we were in the spacious yet cosy Annex. Plentiful breakfast provided by Elaine. Add a great dog named Gibson, named after one of Shaun’s guitars, a cat with no name as yet. I was extremely lucky to get injured on the cycle to Sourdeval and end up staying here with Elaine & Shaun - a wonderful couple with a beautiful peaceful homestead. Shaun even drove me, my bike & trailer full of gear the remaining 70km of my journey.
