Rifugio della pace, the refuge of peace. You don't see often that the name gives meaning to its content. Here it does. On the border of italy and france, what are two made up illusions. Countries are non existant, and here you feel that. Here you feel we share this planet, and that we can share this planet in a way of love and kindness. Love and kindness do exist, you can feel them in the loving atmosphere here, you can see them in the beautiful eyes of the people here, you can smell them from the kitchen, where the cooks put so much love through their hands and hearts, you can hear them through the loving and supporting words of the staff.

Here the people, however challenging it can be to run such a refuge, listen and translate the mountains. The mountains that wisper kind and peacefull words. If you can not hear the wispers of peace from the mountains, come to rifugio della pace, here they will let you feel what they say.

You can enter with hurry, leave in seranity. You can enter with depression, and leave with deep rest. You can enter with greed, and leave with a full belly of graditude. You can enter with sadness, and leave with acceptance.

You can pray to jesus for miracles. You can also see that life is a miracle.

Colazione con torte prodotte al rifugio: al limone, al cioccolato, crostata...tutte eccellenti e in porzioni sontuose. Dopo la gita nelle splendide montagne circostanti (partendo da 2000 m è relativamente semplice raggiungere punte a 2800 metri) in ottima compagnia ci siamo fermati a cena. Con 25 euro si può gustare non un pasto da rifugio ma da ottimo ristorante: pane prodotto da loro, assaggio di quattro antipasti curati (pane arabo con salsa guacamole, torta occitana Madeleine, riso venere, peperone in bagna cauda), polenta alla salsiccia, tajarin ai formaggi o al ragù, al dente e perfetti come gli gnocchi per niente gommoso. Tagliere di formaggi (caprino del posto e gli altri presi da un affinatore) con marmellata di fichi e senape e, per finire, crema di seiras....calorie riprese! Sotto il coordinamento di Roby una equipe affiatata fa funzionare egregiamente tutto (alla prossima proverò a dormire...) ed ha inserito egregiamente i giovani Andrea e Margherita, dinamici e fattivi. Di solito non do i voti bassi ai posti dove mangiamo, ma questa volta purtroppo non possiamo dare di più. Le cose che ci sono piaciuti erano gentilezza di staff, anche se amaro alla fine si poteva offrire come in altri posti in montagna e polenta al formaggio che era abbastanza buona. Per il resto non ci siamo, al mio marito al posto di polenta e spezzatino dichiarato in menu , l'hanno portato polenta con salsiccia che sono cose diversi direi. Poi secondo era veramente ridicolo per il posto in montagna, porzione troppo piccola e non buono. È poi bisogna pulire dalla neve entrata in ristorante secondo me perché è pericoloso e poi è tuo locale, almeno un pezzo per entrarci lo puoi pulire dalla...
