We fell in love with this place from the minute we drove through the gates and around the huge chestnut tree into the courtyard. From the stone walls, over uneven limestone paved floors and up the spiral tower staircase to our rooms we were enchanted, welcomed and cared for. Our host and hostess couldn't do enough for us, even the family dog was gentle and welcoming. Our rooms were large, spacious and spotlessly clean, I think I got the best 2 nights sleep of my entire holiday here. Breakfast was typical continental fare, freshly baked croissants and bread, yogurts, ham and cheese and a selection of condiments from local artisans. The coffee, essential when traveling with kiddies, was top-notch also! We loved our time here and left wishing it could be longer. Should you wish to explore Normandy (our hostess was a wealth of recommendations and local knowledge) the beaches and WW2 history, this is the perfect place to base...
Read moreOur family of four stayed here for one night while exploring the Normandy beaches and various D-Day museums and memorials. The host was wonderful to work with and greeted us by name as we drove into the courtyard. The place is a little tough to find considering its location at a four-way interchange and the high walls, but GPS solved that problem easily. Our room was up a worn, stone spiral staircase which screamed "history" to our kids, who felt they were climbing up into a medieval tower. The property's gardens were beautiful, and breakfast the next morning was wonderful as well.||||For the cost we paid, we felt we got a steal of a deal and stayed at a beautiful chateau. It's not a chateau, per se; it's an old farm house that has been enlarged over the centuries, but you wouldn't know it and the two towers were used for defending it in difficult times, said our host. And it's still a...
Read moreWe stayed there this past weekend and had a wonderful time. The farm and garden are beautiful. I loved the few sheep you could see in the field. It added to the charm. There is a pool and jacuzzi. The pool was closed since it's March, but the jacuzzi was open. The hosts were wonderful. They made reservations for us at a local restaurant, shared the history of the farm, and were happy to help in any way. Easy, beautiful countryside drive to the WW2 sites. We had two rooms for our family and each room was spacious, clean, and had its own bathroom/shower. The breakfast was perfect: croissants, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, juice, home made madelines, fresh fruit, jellies, and our choice of coffee/tea/hot chocolate. We absolutely loved our time there and our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer. Will for sure stay here again if we ever come back...
