This place is homey with exquisite architectural design. From the ceilings, to the floor, the doors, and even the walls. I am in love. As well as the furniture and interior design. My husband booked the place, so I was totally surprised. We had to arrive much later after a horrible day of our flight being canceled and then the airline losing our luggage. I was very sad and tired. Getting to experience this beautiful place was suddenly all worth it. The bed was so comfy & we all slept so well. Peaceful and quiet. The room is very clean. In the morning we were treated to fresh juices, coffee, pastries, jams, and croissants. Even given guidance on how to start our day to see as much as we could as we were behind schedule from our flight delays. It’s continently located to Omaha Beach, & all the military sites my husband had wanted to visit for years. My kids are also loving the place as they have a dog on the grounds. Super friendly and loves to play fetch with them. Highly recommend this place for couples...
Read moreAn amazing property with a history as old as the United States! We were in Normandy to visit the D-Day Beaches as most folks are.||Where do I begin this review? First of all, the owners - Carl and Sabine were amazing hosts! Everything from the finest little details were taken care of. The room was comfortable, quaint, clean and quiet. The history of previous occupants and French craftsmanship were amazing and inspiring!||The ovation was Carl's meticulous skills as a culinary Chef which he displayed one evening as he prepared his famous Normandy chicken dish for dinner! The mornings were just as splendid as a beautiful breakfast was on full display! You will not find this type of hospitality or preparedness at any regular B&B or hotel. ||We wish we could have spent more time than we did, but we plan to return. Thank you again Carl and Sabine - we made new friends for life!||||Au Revoir,||||Mika and Cheryl||||P.s. 'Newton' is the best...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for 2 memorable nights and we had a nothing short of a wonderful experience! We drove here from Caen and had no issue finding it via GPS. Carl was quick to respond via email when we notified him of a later arrival, and despite driving in at 9:00, he was standing out front to greet us!
The room we booked was unexpectedly unavailable, but it was no issue, the room we were given was just as beautiful! We found every corner of this property so unique in traditional Chateau fashion - nothing is too perfect or new. It was a delight to take in the grounds and learn the history of the area - which Carl was quite knowledgable about!
We were in perfect distance to all the D-Day sites while being secluded enough to unwind at the end of a long travel day. We cannot wait to visit again, we talk about this place every chance we can, and we miss Newton the Chateau...
