We were so fortunate to book a room with Caroline during our trip to the Normandy beaches in April! The location is perfect as a home base for this area, although a car was very helpful. Due to some traffic issues, we arrived later than we intended - Caroline greeted us with such a warm welcome despite the late hour and entertained the kids while my husband and I took care of the luggage. She had guide books to Normandy and the D Day beaches (in English!) ready to go the next morning that we borrowed during our stay. Breakfast every day was such a treat - she was always willing to cater to our boys (who can be a little picky) and always kept the coffee full for my husband and me! Our rooms had plenty of space for what we needed and were clean and well maintained. The beach nearby was my favorite of the trip! I recommend going at low tide for a glimpse of the little caves and tide pools! It was such a quiet, peaceful area. We came from a semester-long stay in London and the fresh air and space was just what we needed. Highly recommend - I wouldn't stay anywhere else if we ever...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here during a long-anticipated trip to Normandy. We were absolutely charmed by Caroline and her beautiful home. She met us in the courtyard and showed us to our room, which was private and perfect. Her warmth and patience with our non-existent French was so genuine and welcoming. The property is nestled in a quiet community on rolling hills above the eastern edge of Omaha Beach. We walked about 10 minutes down the only street to find the beach. The only other people were locals picking mussels from pools left behind at low tide. We were so pleased to find ourselves on such hallowed ground with nothing around but cliffs and the English Channel. Caroline recommended an excellent restaurant in Port en Bessin for dinner, and we woke around 8:00am to roosters crowing (not in a bad, wake you up too early way, but a charming French farm country way), and a delicious breakfast in the morning. I can’t recommend Le Clos Saint Jean enough and will be back next time we’re in Normandy. Oh, and what a...
Read moreOur stay at your B&B could have not been more wonderful! Thank you for the early check-in. The room was beautiful with such tasteful decor, the quaint country furnishings, comfy bed, modern shower with tons of towels (we did find the Savon de Marseilles at Carrefour). I love the little table and chairs and the tea and coffee settings. And all the windows! Your property was so beautifully landscaped with the roses and hydrangeas. I'm never one to just "sit" and enjoy but I easily did it out on the lawnchairs. The parking was able to accomodate our big Toyota 4Runner. Breakfasts was like eating at a four star restaurant with homemade breads, crepes, yougurt and that dessert we had the first morning- incredible! We defeintely plan on returning to this gem bringing bikes next time to visit more of the local area restaurants, beaches and cider farms. You and your husband are an incredible hosts and could not have...
