As Americans who love this area of Pays Basque and have revisited many times, the chance to spend a night in a true Basque home was a dream come true. Maison Anderetea offered us an opportunity to learn about the history, construction, and use of these traditional homes. Our air conditioned room, with crisp linens and luxurious plush towels, gave us the best night’s sleep we’d had in weeks. ||It was obvious that the renovations to this home were done thoughtfully with attention to detail. ||Maison Anderetea maintains the integrity of a genuine Basque Home but offers every modern convenience (ex. air conditioning, WiFi, big screen TV that let us watch World Cup Football, etc.) But the piece de resistance is the breakfast. Read moreA lovely house , completely renovated , spotless and immaculate, the room is huge , with bathtub and shower and the doors made of wood are original, lots of paintings with a history and not but least Quentin is kind, dedicated to his house and his hosts . The breakfast is homemade ( bread, jam, muffins etc ) and he indulges in conversations about lots of subjects both in French and English , and the price paid for what we got is low, so we were delighted and I have never seen such kindness in renting a room.
