Hidden amongst trees, approx one mile from Sigoulès village is situated this superb all round family campsite. We booked this site for 4 days to meet with other family members with young children. Motorhome/caravan pitches are large and the premium ones are positioned along the lake front with water tap to each pitch. Surprisingly the pitches have prime location over the lodges. This is definitely our kind of family/commercial campsite. Plenty of things to do for the children, WITHOUT the loud disco music, lots of slot machines etc. With water slides, canoeing, fishing, crazy golf, 2 pools and lakeside swimming and beach there is plenty to do for all ages and all within close proximity to each other and the pitches. Parents can relax and children not too far away. Clubhouse has a friendly bar and food service and sells the basics/emergency supplies such as nappies, wetwipes etc. What is nice about the site is that they have kept everything on a smaller scale. Yes there are canoes for hire but not too many, so as not to disturb the fishing or swimmers. Yes there are water slides but not so dangerously high that as a grandparent or parent you have to be up and down the slides with the kids. Plenty of showering facilities/toilets all kept spotlessly clean. Staff spoke fluent English and the site had many English visitors, so kids made friends quickly. the children enjoyed all the facilities and the layout of the campsite enabled us to sit back and allow the children freedom (age of children 9 and 5). The village is about 30 min walk or 5/10mins on bike, it has plenty of facilities/restaurants and a small carre four supermarket. This is site is highly recommended and not overly priced for what it has to offer. Would...

We arrived in the area almost a day earlier due to prior arrangements being cancelled on route, Jim and Vivienne (Accomodation Management) went out of their way to get us in early. Having drove down from Calais in one go, thanks to prior cancellation we couldn't thank them enough!
We stayed in a Safari Tent which is surprisingly cooler at night than you expect (the day time is too hot in them). Within the tent there is everything you need - Fridge with a small freezer, BBQ, gas stove and grill, Table and chairs, lights, electric points and so forth.
The grounds has a bar (overpriced but exactly what you expect in this sort of place) with a few basic shop items on a few shelves and fridges/freezers. NO Cashpoint. Pool is super clean. Lake is also super clean and alot warmer than the pool, clean sand areas.
Fishing - withing 30 mins I caught a 29lb Common and 27 lb Mirror on a test session. Following full day only 1lb common and no other bites. Fish were in fantastic condition and the lake is not fished heavily. Fish were caught on Halibut floaters. Sweetcorn, pop ups tiger nuts and more drew blanks.
Everyone is soo helpfull and friendly, cannot...
Read moreLovely place to stay with our caravan, very clean facilities, huge pitches, fantastic staff, choice of a lake and beach or a pool, what more can one want. It's definitely a five star place.
One issue was an entitled family that appointed themselves as the the site speed police. It's 10km/h (not unreasonable) but these people decided they would place chairs in the access road to create a chicane in an effort to police the 10km/h speed limit. Cars could pass with a bit of steering but for caravans it was an issue. Ironically, these entitled people seemed to have no issues with allowing their young children to sit in the road to play totally unsupervised. When cars want to pass, the children get up and leave their toys in the road! Not very good parenting.
This is one entitled family out of many so don't let this put you off staying at this awesome site, you can meet this type of...
