Le Domaine du Clos du Phare — Hotel in Bernay

Recension We stayed at Les Charmilles for two nights Thursday to Saturday, my wife and 11-year old son. It was a truly wonderful experience. The flat was located on the second floor (with quite steep stairs to access mind you) with a sitting room with small but useful kitchenette, dining table and sofa bed. The spacious bedroom with TV was the second room. Small and modern bathroom with shower rounded off. The flat has a beautiful view across the property and landscape. We had sheep in the field next door, the silent grazing type. The setup worked really well for our family as we shopped dinner at the nearby E.Leclerc Hypermarche.

Breakfast was a positive surprise with juice, bread, homemade marmelade, pain au chocolates, croissants, yoghurt, fruit/berries and assortment of cheese and ham. Didier also made us fresh scrambled eggs and our son got hot chocolate to his delight.

The property is really wonderful with plenty of seating outside to enjoy the views. And please do if you have a sunny evening. We had a drink in one of the gazebos with the sun setting and Pont Normandie and the river in the distance, a very soothing and romantic moment with our son playing mobile games in the room meanwhile.

The heated pool and pool area is one of the best I have experienced when I weigh in the setting.

Didier was an attentive host and we could not have asked for more. He was in contact with us before to ensure everything was ready.

I write reviews to help owners of well run properties and help others find good places to stay. Sometimes also the opposite. This review was a joy to write and Le Domaine Du Clos Du Phare is etched in memory....

We had the Les Pommiers, lovely house. You can be 6 people comfortable there. They provide a lot of facilities to feel comfortable and enjoy the stay. |Even they have a voy and chair for Babies.|We didnt have a lovely weather (Normandy rain :)), but I imagine that during the spring and summer must be lovely as the pool is in the middle of the country side and you have different things to seat and enjoy the view. |The host is really kind and flexible all the time. |Beds: comfortable|Towels: could be better. |You can ask in advance and they bring you breakfast to your room (pastries and local products) but is not possible they serve breakfast.|The area is 1 hour from Omaha beach or main spots to visit but you are out of the massive tourist. |It is ideal to take time off in the nature!|I would definitely...

Bij aankomst waren wij aangenaam verrast, mooie omgeving en uitstekend goed onderhouden domein.||Ook de kamer was tip top in orde.||||Vriendelijke gastheer die oog had voor detail, maar als je iets vroeg zag hij dit meteen als kritiek en kreeg je een nors antwoord.||||De periode dat wij hier verbleven was het +- 28 graden, op de kamer was het veel te warm om te slapen en door de vele muggen kun je 's nachts het venster niet open laten staan om af te koelen, de kamers zijn niet voorzien van airco (dit wisten wij op voorhand) ||Na de eerste nacht vroegen wij aan de gastheer of hij een ventilator ter beschikking had, deze hadden zij helaas niet dus hebben wij deze zelf maar eentje aangekocht in een plaatselijke winkel.||||Omwille van de zwangerschap van mijn vrouw kozen wij voor een rustig gelegen b&b met zwembad, wij betaalde dan ook ruim meer voor een b&b met zwembad.||Helaas was het zwembad groen uitgeslagen met algen omwille van een kapotte filter dus hebben wij hier geen gebruik van kunnen maken.||Omwille van de zwangerschap wouden wij hier geen risico nemen.||||Bij het uitchecken had ik hier dan wel een kleine compensatie voor verwacht.||||Het ontbijt was goed, alleen miste ik wat variatie, wij kregen elke dag 2 dezelfde broodjes en beleg. Omwille van corona begrijp ik dat er geen uitgebreid buffet aanwezig is, maar het lijkt mij een kleine moeite om toch wat te variëren.||||Dit is zeker geen kritiek, maar kleine werkpuntjes om het verblijf van anderen helemaal...
