This place is absolutely incredible! From the moment we stepped foot through the front door till the moment we said our goodbyes, we were totally blown away! ||Let’s us kick things off with the arrival! ||We made it to Maison Groleau after an absolutely flawless 5-hour drive! Upon arrival we were totally embraced with open arms by our amazing hosts- Guillaume & Pierre-Louis! ||They gave us a tour of their absolutely stunning place. I am still in awe! This place was absolutely MAGNIFIQUE! ||The decor was so on point, so well done and stylish. And can we talk about how spacious and airy it was? Pure perfection! It had such a charming zen vibe! It was seriously good - so warm and welcoming at the same time! ||We were obssed with the stunning kitchen/dining area in this place! It is seriously well thought out and the finishing touches are absolutely beautiful. And can we talk about the seamless transition from the kitchen to the pool patio area? This door is seriously next level clean! I mean, it is so spotless that you could literally walk right into it without even realising it. ||When you are outside, you just have to take a moment to soak in the absolute serenity of the breathtaking scenery and the soothing vibes of the picturesque French countryside. It is like stepping into a dream! ||Checking into our room, Guillaume & Pierre-Louis was so on point, they took care of our bags and placed them at the bottom of the bed for us to unpack. Talk about VIP treatment!||The bedrooms are so spacious and have the most amazing flow to the bathroom, toilet and cupboard area. ||It is like a dream come true! and the incredible king size bed we stayed in! It was next level. The bed was so clean and the linen was freshly pressed, giving it that luxurious hotel vibe. And let us not even get started on the grand fluffy pillows - they were like sleeping on clouds! And the bathroom towels! They are seriously next level - so crisp and brilliantly white! ||I loved the minimalistic vibes in the rooms! They were totally clutter-free and had just the right amount of simplicity without feeling too bare. ||Once we finished unpacking, we decided to retreat to the serene garden for some much-needed relaxation before indulging in a delightful dinner. ||Guillaume & Pierre-Louis totally blew us away with the most incredible meal!The quality and tastes were absolutely exquisite and set in the most amazing part of the house. |We couldn’t get enough of the amazing food. ||Breakfast in the morning was absolutely amazing! From the rich roast coffee to the fresh home made jams- try the fig one! It’s très bon, everything was of equal quality and so delicious! Oh and the strawberry muffin… so delicious and delicate. ||Check out was like checkin, slick, quick and easy to complete, no waiting around and very smooth. ||Taking everything into consideration, this is an extremely wonderful location, amazing hosts and great food, we will most surely come back for a few more nights in the future.||Merci Guillaume &...

Our stay at Maison Groleau – Chambre et Table d’hôtes was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for – it truly felt like staying at a friend’s beautiful countryside home rather than just a guesthouse.

The house and rooms: Maison Groleau is absolutely charming – tastefully decorated with a mix of elegance and coziness that makes you feel instantly at ease. Our room was spotless, beautifully furnished, and very comfortable, with thoughtful details that showed how much care goes into every aspect of the guest experience.

Hospitality and service: The hosts are simply incredible – warm, attentive, and passionate about making every guest’s stay perfect. Nothing ever felt rushed or transactional – just genuine hospitality at its very best. We were given wonderful tips about the area and felt like we were treated as friends rather than just guests.

The highlight – dinner and breakfast: The set menu dinner was an absolute highlight of our trip. Each course was prepared with love and creativity, featuring fresh local ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. It was the kind of meal that makes you slow down and savor every bite. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxed – exactly what you dream of when staying in the French countryside.

Breakfast the next morning was just as delightful: fresh bread and pastries, homemade jams, seasonal fruit, great coffee – everything beautifully presented and full of flavor. It was the perfect start to the day and once again showed the hosts’ dedication to quality.

Overall: Maison Groleau is a true gem near Bordeaux – a place where design, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality come together. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, a stopover to explore the wine region, or simply a memorable experience, this is the place to be. We left feeling recharged, happy, and already planning our next visit.

We are two nights of three into our stay at Maison Groleau and we could not have found a better place to stay for so many reasons. Guillaume and Pierre-Louis are the perfect hosts and they have converted the house into a small beautifully appointed home from home. Only three bedrooms. The option to eat here the evenings should absolutely not be missed. Guillaume is a chef of the highest order and the food is absolutely divine and exceptional. Despite being self taught he has reached Michelin standards and chapeau to him for the wonderful meals we have enjoyed so far. They serve the wines from the family property which are very good indeed. The property is also well located for all the various attractions...
