La Terrasse de Verchaix — Hotel in Bonneville

We had a wonderful ski holiday at Chalet Mia during Feb half term week. We were a group of 3 families, 6 adults and 9 children ranging from 5 to 15 years old. Thanks to Phil and Louise the holiday couldn’t have gone any better. Be sure to take their advice as with years of experience they really do know how to ensure your holiday is as organised as possible and that everything runs smoothly so that you have the very best time. The chalet was perfect! Comfortable, spacious and clean with stunning views and everything you need. For 3 evenings of the week we made the most of the beautiful chalet and hot tub and relaxed in front of the fire and enjoyed delicious home cooked meals by Louise. Just what was needed after a busy days skiing! The other evenings we dined out at a few of the local restaurants. La Reposette in Samoens, which is at the bottom of the Vercland lift was our favourite. Head in there at the end of a day for a few drinks and a lovely meal before heading back to the chalet. Make sure you pay a visit to the local Patisserie too where you can enjoy a morning coffee and a selection of amazing pastries & breads. Being a large group with children we hired a minibus which was necessary due to the location of the chalet although the bus stop was very close and very efficient to get you to the lifts at Morillion and Samoens. 5 stars all round for everything about our stay at Chalet Mia but if we had to pick one thing that made our holiday it was our hosts, Phil and Louise! Booked on the recommendation of friends. Staying in Samoens this would have been difficult to get to but for the mini bus service offered by the owners.|With the tables set up in the kitchen-diner and lots of personal attention from our hosts, the visit felt like an evening meal in a VERY high quality ski chalet. Made a pleasant change from the local restaurants we'd been using.|As a large-ish group we had pre-ordered our starters and mains, although most had a pud also. My first trip to the La Terrasse but what a trip. Just the most perfect base if you want to ride some of the classic TDF routes and monuments. The only thing.....when you get back to Verchaix you have a 1.5 Km climb back up the the base but its not so bad when it becomes familiar. The patrons Phil and Lou are just wonderful. A cold beer in your hand when you return and fantastic food with vegetables from their own gardens. Organic or what ? Just wonderful. The Chalet is very comfortable and spotless.
